Perhaps a 1-1 with Cahill would have been a 0-0 with Zouma which, of course, would be much worse for Chelsea.

You mean to tell me you didn't envision a JT to Cahill to Bane goal sequence?

    A couple more things.

That ref absolutely sucked. He basically took Eden out of the game since there were no repercussions for fouling him. It took Veratti 6-7 fouls before he even got booked and he's one of the most booked players in the world. Luiz should have also been booked, same with Maxwell.

Speaking of Eden, he fell asleep a couple of times defensively, similar to last year's 2nd leg vs Atletico. You can't do that with Luiz and Veratti out there in the middle. They can play those diagonal balls.

David Luiz had a great view of that Chelsea goal from his position marking air around the penalty spot. I still can't believe you got 50 mil Euro for him.

Ref was terrible. Probably should've lost this game 3-1. How Ibrahimovic didn't score on some of those chances was pure luck.

Yeah but he was actually pretty damn good yesterday though granted it was in the MF. I thought he controlled the tempo pretty well. With Marquinhos and Silva at CB he probably will see more time there, especially with Motta getting up there in age.

That ref helped PSG more than a lot of people are willing to admit. PSG players received almost zero discipline for blatantly fouling our players all game. People will point to the Ramires incident and say "oh well it's even" but it really isn't. If the ref had remembered how to use cards, then by the time Ramires fouled Pastore PSG would already be playing with 9 men.

Hell, Veratti's first foul of the game was in the first 10 minutes, and was an intentional foul from behind to stop a counterattack. That's a yellow card every time, and would have very likely either drastically changed the way he played, or he would have just gotten himself sent off.

That tackle was a disgrace to football, it could've easily ruined Matic's career.

No way he should've been sent off.

Matic's reaction warranted the sending off. The injustice is that it was not 10v10 after that entire sequence.

Should have actually been 11v10 before that even happened. Either a straight red for his kick out on Ivanovic, or a yellow for that and a yellow for his challenge on Zouma.

Either way, Barnes should not have been in the game at that point.

                          Oh, definitely.

I was only speaking of that one particular series of incidents and not everything that happened before.

I think there has been a lot of over reaction around Barnes' 'tackle'. Anybody who has played football at any level knows that when you pass a ball you follow through with your pass to provide better power and accuracy. That's about all Barnes is guilty of in this case. His earlier fouls were poor, he should've been booked but in all serious honesty, Matic only gets hit because he challenged Barnes late. Neither are truly at fault, and Matic's reaction is unprofessional. Believe me Id react the same way but you have to keep your head and allow the referee to deal with it.

You got that about as wrong as Atkinson did. You don't follow through with ur foot that high unless you're trying to hurt someone which he was guilty of all match long. Even if it was a 50/50 ball Matic managed to keep his studs down, why couldn't Barnes. If Barnes had got there late I'd be more inclined to agree with you but he was there first.

That was a tough final 20 minutes and the ramifications of events following could be huge. I never thought 8 points at this time were anything to feel great about, but didn't think it would start to evaporate that quickly either.

                                Bad decision my Matic.
