Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Not sure about letting both Mereiles and Essien go and not getting any replacements. I just think that we're now a little thin in the midfield and given that Lamps hasn't had a great injury record as of late, that could come bite us later on
I was disappointed in the Supercup and our back 4 were really exposed, but it's not the end of the world. Just shows that we can't underestimate quality opponents going forward. I loved watching Falcao though....
The two week break sucks, but looking forward to our next gameComment

We got 75% of the costs recouped for Raul but with him and Essien gone our midfield is paper thin. I'm assuming RDM is going back to a 4-3-3 which better suits Lampard and Ramires. It also makes more sense for the wingers we have now.Comment

That makes sense, but I guess this means Oriol Romeu will a chance of more play time. I also thought Chelsea would try to get rid of Malouda before Meireles since he is in his last year of his contract and you guys didn't include him on UCL squad list.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Don't understand letting Meireles go after allowing Essien to leave last Friday. I wonder if you are in the market for a Free Agent signing? You have named your 25 man squad where you have named 20 players (not including the likes of Hazard and Oscar whoa re under 21). It might sound odd to some but I think a player like Nigel Reo-Coker who is available would fit in as back up to many clubs in the league.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
I guess that's the biggest disappointment of all is that Malouda is still on the squad!
Romeu played decent in his time under AVB last year. Didn't see him much after but now's the time to show off those Barca youth system skills.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Supposedly he's on his way out to a club where the market is still open. I read something about going back to France for around 1 million but I don't think their window is still open.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Yeah the French window closed yesterday and Turkey closed today. The only league still open is the Russian league that closes tomorrow night at midnight.Comment

Looks as if Paolo Ferreira is getting the same treatment now as well.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
So...
Back four looked questionable at times... Hazard blew a surely gaming winning opportunity. Torres was suspect all game long and the boys didn't look much better than that loss to Madrid a few weeks back. The difference this time was the opponent.
On a side note Moses looked good. I liked when Sturridge was brought on as well but thought it was a little too late. I know not a lot of you guys aren't a fan of Sturridge but I've been pushing to to see him get a run at CF from the go. Put Moses, Hazard and Mata out there as well and lets see what happens.Comment

Was Mata injured or just rested for Juventus? They really missed him.Comment
