His pace is insane though, as soon as he figures out how to put the ball in the net he's going to be scary

Yea, kid has some wheels. He also looks much older than 22 when he has the full beard going but I'd guess that he's had that beard since he was 10, lol. I know the jump in class is huge but Mo finishes really well for Egypt and like Torres for us. He could have easily had 5-7 goals last year in the 2nd half of the season.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
I'll use a spoiler since the replay doesn't come on until tomorrow
SpoilerThis weekend should be interesting. Mourinho mad at Del Bosque because he sent Diego Costa back broken. Remy goes after scoring a well taken goal. That leaves us with Drogba as the lone striker most likely although I wouldn't 100% rule Diego out. It would have been nice to have Remy or Diego making those back shoulder runs off Rojo/Jones/whoever. Ramires probably still out with his groin. Hopefully Schurlle will be recovered from the flu and Mikel's foot injury will heal up.
As for today, Eden could have had 5 if he had finished that backheel from Drogba or scored a couple of other chances but poor Maribor had no chance. Good to see the youngsters Zouma, Ake, and Solanke get a run out. I swear Zouma is too strong for his age. He almost took out Luis. I was kinda surprised that Azpi didn't get a start on the right considering he's suspended for the next 3.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Gonna be honest here, I think Eden is a terrible finisher for a person of his ability. He scores goals because he is one of the best players on the planet and puts himself in good positions, but he is far from a natural goalscorer. Shirley is our only "real" goalscoring midfielder and he is in a bad run of form.
I actually think we should go all in for Reus. He fits our system perfectly and is exactly the kind of goalscoring threat Jose wants our other midfielders to be. I realize we don't NEED him, but if we want to make that final jump to the top tier of European clubs (Barca, Real, Bayern) then we need players of that caliber (I love Willian, but he will never be THAT good).Comment

So yeah, looks like my previous post sums up our game today pretty well.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
The minnows did punch way above their weight class but man...Schurrle & Drogba were poor.
Oh well, Schalke lost so we're still in a good position. Hopefully this fires us up for Liverpool on Saturday.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Man Courtois just cannot buy a clean sheet. He really has been fantastic, I can't think of a single goal we've conceded that was his fault. Never puts a wrong foot forward and then we concede some absolute comedy goals.
We played well vs Pool but our finishing was dire honestly. The amount of times they turned the ball over in dangerous areas was silly, we should have punished them for those mistakes but we didn't. If that was RM, they'd have massacred Liverpool.
Oh well, 3 more points. Let's just try to make it out of this stupid month.Comment

I love Shurrle, but if Mou could make this happen that would be amazing.
EDIT: False alarm. Take this with a shovel full of salt. Turns out they got this from the Daily Express.

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
I read that and I think it's probably total BS. I don't see how Dortmund would even consider that. Also it's probably Fox reporting on a story from some garbage English site like the Sun or something.
I actually like Shirley a lot, I'd probably be very conflicted about a move like that.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
You guys are fantastic this year and I agree. If you get Reus my lord it would be over. Fact of the matter is Chelsea knew who to buy, bought them all quickly and quietly. That's how you do transfer business. Selling players for massive profits also.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Hypothetically speaking of course, how would Reus fit in with Chelsea? Strictly from a schematic standpoint. Doesn't he play the same position as Hazard? If I'm not mistaken Reus is basically a more developed Shurrle?SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Shirley and Reus are different actually, Reus is far more proficient with the ball at his feet. As for positions, Reus and Hazard would just swap sides continually throughout the game, Reus currently does this with Auba at Dortmund.
I'd say calling Reus a more developed Shirley is slightly insulting to Reus, he is Germany's best attacking player.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Rob Beasley is reporting that Shurrle is fighting for his Chelsea future and can be replaced as soon as January. Rob Beasley is a pretty credible guy as well.
Perhaps this sums up his selfishness and desperation to score goals as of late.
I'm hoping we can somehow get the Reus swap done. If we throw in a plentiful amount of cash I think Dortmund would bite.
