If Dembele actually becomes available, and we aren't first in line spastically throwing giant wads of cash at Bartomeu, I'm going to be very disappointed.

Ousmane or Moussa, I don’t care. I’d like a Dembele please

Imo we need to make either Dembele (Barca) or Bailey our top target for the summer.

Getting a young, hungry and talented wide forward to play on the opposite side of Hazard is an absolute must. The two of them are ballers as well, and I’ve discussed our need for another player like that to compliment Hazard and take some of the offensive pressure off him many times on here.

I think we probably won’t be buying a huge amount of players, but if we have just one big transfer it should be one of those two.

In the limited time I've watched Dembele, I was impressed and would gladly take him.

Time for Giroud, Kane, Baka and Zouma to get on the phone and start recruiting their fellow Frenchman.

I wonder how close Tammy was to the England squad.

I mean it had to come down to him and Welbeck right? Welbeck played pretty well down the stretch once he got back from injury. He probably separated himself there.

I think Welbeck performs well for England, so he was probably already on he plane.

Likely Tammy’s competition was either Rashford or Vardy.

Still talking about the handshake with Mo:

                Conte:
"This is not important now. We have a normal relationship now and I will shake his hand."

Now, if I were a Chelsea-supporter the article linked below would worry me. I'm a bit curious to how this turns out in the end.

"This revised approach from the Chelsea owner has ensured that when the biggest players in world football are up for grabs, his club are no longer at the front of the queue to snap them up."

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has accused owner Roman Abramovich of pulling the plug on the club’s transfer spending - and now evidence of that austerity programme can be revealed.

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***

Well since 2014 we have won 2 EPL trophies so why spend? Look how much money United has poured but they barely qualified for the CL this year due to winning the Europa League last season. Only one team with more spending than Chelsea has won a EPL trophy.

Now Citeh are a even different animal, Pep is basically playing FM with a unlimited transfer funds hack over there.

So I am not too worried and we will see how this summer goes. From the board down there is a lot of fixing that needs to take place. There is a lot of players also on loan this year that could have been used in rotation. Also dead money on the squad that is not being used.

A director and manager need to come in this season that are on the same page going forward. We are not neither of the Manchesters financially but we also have been smart with our funds for most part. Everton spent endlessly and where did it get them?

The article also talks about back in the day Chelsea would be in the market for Sanchez... no, I don't think so. Those are insane wages only one of the two Manchester clubs could cover and even Citeh walked away. Also Lukaku I believe was United bound no matter what; however, the board did dish out decent money for Morata among other players.

Also Conte's constant bitching about spending and the board is more annoying as a Chelsea fan that worrisome. Honestly, what Conte did last season will always hold true to my heart. Also if he snags a trophy this season than I will appreciate that as well. However, I think as a fan I am ready to move on as well. The first rock the Chelsea ship hit this season was the Costa text\transfer and since then the club hasn't really recovered. Costa is a different breed of striker and something this club severely needed this season. He willed his way to points last year.

                    Anyways, I'm done. lol

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***

It's definitely a bit more complicated than that article suggests, which is very little really.

It's definitely no secret the club has been financially preparing for the new stadium in the last couple years, but the clash between Jose/Conte and the board has been more due to the types of transfers Conte wanted than a pure reluctance to spend money. With the exception of Alex Sandro and Lukaku/Morata, Conte's preferred transfer targets were all north of 29 years old. Conte's targets have arguably been worse than Jose's targets were, as at least Jose's targets were proven and currently world class 30 year olds. Conte wanted freaking Candreva, who still would have cost like 30m. Our board wants to find younger, more exciting players to recruit as part of a longer-term revamping process, and out current and ex-managers both don't like using those types of players.

The whole thing about Sanchez, largely ignores quite a lot. Sanchez hasn't exactly lit up Old Trafford, and even world class players still need to properly fit into a team. Sanchez plays best in the same position Hazard does, so spending those kind of wages on a player who would immediately cause formation issues is a bit silly. Of course Sanchez can play on the right side, which is where we need strengthening, but the problem there is that he doesn't want to (which he has made clear many times).

Roman has been very adamant from the very beginning that his goal is to make Chelsea completely self-sustainable, which we currently are. If the right kind of expensive player becomes available, I would expect us to still legitimately compete for the signature.

Yup, great points about Sanchez... he was never in the play for us.

Also on board with Sanchez to Chelsea is a ludicrous idea. While very talented, Sanchez would be a round peg in a hexagonal hole for them. Chelsea went from free spending to responsible spending, and still have a title. I don't think many managers should be worried, unless they want to try to spend their way out of trouble.

I could not watch the game live today but avoided everyone I knew that watched the beautiful game and all social media outlets.

Some luck, a lot of frustration but damn... I don’t know if it’s the Kraken rum or what but **** Conte. I thought Giroud and Cesc were poor and could have been subbed out. Instead Conte’s stubbornness kept the entire 11 on until it was time wasting time.

                              Hazard was brilliant as usual.

Mo tapping Willian on the head as he was coming on... lol... make the bid already or give us the Martial swap.

In the end, once the final whistle blew it was a feeling of thrill and happiness.

Props to Mo to going to Conte after the final whistle to congratulate him.

But in the end Mourinho got Mourinho’d.

Sweet ending to a sour season... now let’s get our **** together this summer.

Blue is the color, football is the game!

                              Edit:

I only say **** Conte because boy, I felt I got a few gray hairs because of him this game.

That game played out exactly the way I thought it would, although I originally predicted United to be the team scoring the lone goal of the game. It was absolutely not one for the neutrals, but considering the two managers, everyone should have expected that really.

Rudiger is so great. You know, our transfers haven't all been coming off as planned recently, but the one thing that has remained a constant throughout most of the Roman era is that we pretty much always buy well in defense. Also, something I've noticed is that our defenders are quite often very good 1v1.

This was also another one of those games you can point to that really showcase how good Hazard is, and how his stats in general rarely ever tell the full story of his talent. Really is the spiritual successor to Zola in so many ways.

On the other side of the coin, this was ALSO a great game to showcase exactly how much we rely on Hazard. I really hope we are planning to go grab another high quality attacker to help him, even if it's someone like Bailey who isn't the finished article yet.

All in all, this was definitely the best result of our season, especially considering Jose's record in cup finals. It's also a trophy we haven't won in quite some time. We had developed a reputation for being a nightmare at Wembley, but the reality was we haven't really performed in the FA Cup for several years, at least not to the standard we set for ourselves.

We will see what the summer brings for us, but for now my daughter and I will be spending the week trolling my wife and son.
