Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
I understand that thought process but with them spending money on two big attackers this window and the need to replace other aging players, I would think they would keep Zouma for at least this year. Especially with money being limited due to the pandemic unless Chelsea have a pile of cash they are about to spend.Current careers:

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
He gets a lot of stick from Chelsea fans because he's not great with his feet but he's better than people think.
Now with that being said, go out and get Haevertz! Bayern will try to get him for free after next summer but Leverkusen will want to cash in. LB is of more concern at the moment but this kid is the real deal.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Honestly pretty delighted with the Werner signing, I think he’s just what we needed in the right area of our attack. Our defense is definitely underrated, they weren’t THAT bad, just had lots of constant pressure on them due to our inability to threaten consistently on offense.
However, this is not the biggest news of the week imo. By all accounts, Ruben is ready to come back. This is it boys, the original hype train and I’m SO ready for this resurrection story.
Choo choo mother****ers, it’s Ruben time.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Honestly I just want Ruben to have a decent period where he isn’t injured and can really show everyone what he’s capable of. We got to see a bit of it before that injury where he was our best player outside of Hazard.
He’s still the crown jewel of our academy, the one with the highest ceiling even next to CHO and James and Gilmour. His injuries are the only things standing in his way of setting Europe on fire. If he can stay injury-free for a full season I’m confident the rest of the fans will finally understand what Chelsea fans have been talking about all this time.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Not a bad game from Ruben, think he will be much better in mid instead of on the wing obviously.
Pulisic is likely our best attacker right now, though I do get why he and Tammy were on the bench to start.
Happy with the win, since there is a high probability we lose to City.Comment

I didn’t think RLC was very good but it was to be expected playing wide and coming off the long lay off.
Yeah I just want a point bs City but if AC has the same kind of mental lapses we’re cooked.

City actually looks way better than they did before the break, it’s going to be pretty roughComment

What a win, honestly this is the most fun Chelsea has been in a while.
Definitely disappointing that Tottenham and United both won but this was such a huge boost.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
Definitely pleasantly surprised we didn’t concede on a few of those corners.
Also, Pulisic is a man possessed right now. This is exactly what we needed from at least one of our attackers coming back from the break.
I also think our defense isn’t quite as bad as it’s made out to be. I really think our lack of offensive pressure the second half of the season contributed a whole lot to our defensive issues. When other teams know they don’t have to fear our offense, they can be more aggressive attacking our final third and then it just becomes this constant pressure our defense has to deal with and eventually something will give.
If Pulisic keeps playing like this, with the addition of Ziyech and Werner next season, I think people will be surprised how good our defense actually is. Like if you look at the numbers, we really don’t concede very many goal scoring chances during open play.
Anyway, delighted with the points and really starting to get a bit hopeful which obviously is probably a mistake.Comment

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***
So it looks like we are legitimately at the front of the line for Haevertz? Pretty wild considering how big a talent everyone seems to think he is.
Also very interesting the Declan Rice stuff, I had no idea he was naturally a CB.
People keep saying we need to focus on buying defenders not offensive players, but I don’t think those have to be related necessarily. Also, when you have the chance to sign players like Ziyech/Werner/Haevertz you should just do it.
I think solving our defensive issues and getting new players is much more complicated than people seem to think, and will likely take multiple transfer windows to complete since I think Kepa will be on the way out as well.
This whole thing is a project, we were never really meant to compete for the title in Frank’s second season.Comment
