I know Math isn't OS fave thing, but if I did my math correctly, TFC needs 2 more points to clinch a playoff spot.

They're currently 4th in east. Hope they can keep things that way. Home field in round 1 against the 5 seed is much better than the 6 or 7 seed vs Philly or Atlanta.

MNUFC claimed their first MLS playoff berth with a 90-minute winner from rookie 2nd round pick Hassani Dotson at their new home Allianz Field.

Just like it was meant to be in the script.

TFC is undefeated in their last nine MLS games but have just three wins during that streak. Incredibly they haven't had one clean sheet during the nine games.

TFC owes Cincinnati and Montreal a big thanks today. Results went TFC's way and TFC steals fourth place and gets to host a playoff game against DC United after starting the day in sixth place.

Galaxy have to be the most Jekyll-and-Hyde team in all of MLS, maybe all of professional sports. One minute they're looking like world beaters, beating LAFC and putting up seven against SKC, the next they're losing back-to-back against the two worst sides in the West... with a home playoff game on the line no less.

I guess you could chalk it up to horrid defense, but it seems there's more to it than that. Can't wait to see what next season has in store, when they won't have Zlatan around to dish out random braces and hat tricks.

Out of nowhere I was able to snag a ticket for tomorrow’s match. My first trip to the new stadium. P good time for it.

                  Re: MLS Discussion Thread

Speaking of out of nowhere, TFC scores four times in the first 15 minutes of extra time to beat DC United 5-1 after DC scored a tying goal in the 93rd minute.

We're going to be absolutely gassed for Wednesday's match against NYFC. Chris Mavinga and Marco Delgado look like they picked up injuries.

I'm not optimistic but it's better than the shootout loss I was expecting after DC tied it. Shootouts and TFC do not get along.

That's it for Wayne Rooney's MLS adventure. I kind of wish he was substituted during the second half of extra time rather than half time because I think he would have gotten a nice ovation from the TFC crowd.

Great week for Canadian Jonathan Osorio. He was part of the win against the US on Tuesday and gets two goals tonight in extra time.

                    Re: MLS Discussion Thread

I got to go to that game. The crowd is amazing. I hung out near the supporters section. You could figuratively and at time literally feel the excitement.

Soccer games are unlike any other games I've ever been to, and I've been to so many different events from many diff sports/leagues.

People were heading out when it was 1-0 and extra time added on. Once they said extra time was added, fans were cheering because they knew it was almost done...until it wasn't. Reaction when DC scored was heartbreaking. Then TFC goes FIFA mode and just puts up 4 goals in overtime lol.

To top it off, there was a Leafs game that ended not too long after. Train ride home was filled with...non sober hockey and soccer fans lol. A few guys in particular started their own barbershop quartet lol.

Said it before, will say it again, NYCFC playing at Yankee stadium is horrible.

The netting for MLB games is still up for some reason, so the TV camera is filming behind that net.

Either way, TFC pulls out the win!

I hate to break it to you but the game was at Citi Field not Yankee Stadium.

NYFC completely gifted us the win. Thank you very much. I don't know what NYFC defender Ronald Matarrita was thinking on the penalty call. You know it's bad when two NYFC players near Matarrita screamed at him after the foul rather than the ref.

Still a solid accomplishment with the short week and no Altidore.

The game on Sunday was a blast. Amazing atmosphere, amazing stadium.

That game was Minnesota in a nutshell this year. Were the better team and couldn't put the ball in the net. Bit of a puzzling team selection by Heath. Bye bye Angelo. Someone's gonna need to step up next year in attack.

After allowing a mind-boggling 141 goals over the first two MLS seasons, Minnesota United now has the Defender of the Year in Ike Opara and Goalkeeper of the year in Vito Mannone.

I really hope they can find a way to sign Mannone to a permanent deal. He genuinely seems to like it here and enjoys amazing crowd support.
