My bad, I thought you were just talking about the signings this Summer.
This is the same system that Perez installed with the first coming of the Galatico's. He is going to focus on signing the big name attacking guys. Thats just the way its going to be. Hopefully he has learned from his first attempt at running the club that he needs to focus a little more on the defensive end of things this time around.
As that lead to the undoing of the Galatico's the firist time around. That and not developing any younger players which looks like its about to change with the Benzema signing today.
As with regards to having too many attacking players I just don't see it. Pellegrini runs a version of the 4-4-2 where he has two strikers, two attacking midfielders, and two defensive mids.
Kaka will play one of the attacking midfield roles with the other being filled with more than likely another galatico type signing (hopefully Ribery). While Pellegrini has said that he sees Ronaldo as more of a secondary striker in his system. He could also fill in at attacking mid.
At striker if Real don't make anymore big name signings. You will see Benzema with probably Higuain at the other forward spot. The Dutchies are on their way out according to most of the Spanish papers, so that mean no RVN or Huntelaar. So that answers that question.
Perez isn't finsished yet either. He is looking at Xabi Alonso and Arbeloa from Liverpool so that will add something to the defense if those players come. I'm pretty sure he will also be looking to add a CB as well.
Perez knows what he is doing as Real won a lot of silverware when he was in charge the first time.
