This one doesn't make much sense, but Sky Sports News reports that Manchester City are in talks with Arsenal to sign Emmanuel Adebayor. They have Roque Santa Cruz, are expected to sign Tevez (could this mean it's gone off the rails?), yet they want to sign another striker? At this point I don't see how Adebayor can remain with the team without eating a heaping helping of humble pie -- which appears a tad far-fetched. So if Citeh wants to bring him to the [Middle] Eastlands and is willing to pay a (typical for them) exaggerated fee, so be it...

Re: The Transfer Thread
Also, Manchester United is done with the transfer market.
While I'm a bit disappointed (we could have at least gotten that Costa kid), I definitely see Ferguson's point. The market right now is over-inflated due to Real Madrid and City. United don't need to make knee-jerk moves and regret it later. Might as well save that money and see who's available in January. I just hope United are strong enough for a 4th consecutive title and a (long shot?) 3rd Champions League final.Comment

Ya don't get a true feeling for how ugly Tevez is until you see a close picture of him.

Re: The Transfer Thread
Looks like Acid's boy, Lorik Cana, is on the wishlist of a few teams. The article mentions Everton, Hamburg, and "some Italian sides". Acid, if you still have the direct number for Arsene's office (we all know you gave him the scoop on Vela), you may want to give him a ring...Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Carlos Tevez has completed his move to Manchester City on a five-year contract after passing his medical at Eastlands.
Marseille have completed the signing of Stoke target Stephane Mbia from Rennes.

Re: The Transfer Thread
From Sky Sports transfer clockwatch (seen it elsewhere as well):
15.50 Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has confirmed the club are in talks with Arsenal over a deal for Emmanuel Adebayor.
If it goes through, can Arsene finally buy the elusive experienced/quality holding mid?Comment

From Sky Sports transfer clockwatch (seen it elsewhere as well):
I've read that the teams have agreed on a fee approaching £25M and Adebayor is in Manchester discussing contract/personal terms with a weekly wage of similar to Tevez's deal. Wow. And I'm sure the conversation over the fee was a long one...
If it goes through, can Arsene finally buy the elusive experienced/quality holding mid?
He better.
The question is, who of any quality is out there at that position? Mamadou Diarra is the only one that comes to mind. I like Cana but I would rather have a guy like Diarra if we have the funds to acquire him. Which we should if we sale Ade."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Re: The Transfer Thread
Is it just me, or does 25 million seem low? Ade scored 40+ goals in 2 seasons, and other players have gone for a lottt more. Is Kaka really worth 45 million more than Ade?
That said, I'd be so happy if this is true. Just pleeeease don't buy any more 17 year olds.Tomahawk Chopped - An FSU NCAA 11 Dynasty
