However, previous to that (and likely going forward) I'll be back to 10 /10.

Why?

The game is tuned in Play Now with the injury setting locked in at 10.

Therefore, the core "physics" of the game are based around that setting.

To me, the injury slider has some pursuit / shed tied to it (not unlike the INT / DPI and TAK / Mask sliders) and when it's jacked up way above that "Play Now 10", the result is "over pursuit".

M19 and M20 are both plagued by "too much defense" (jacked up block shed and pursuit) which is just resulting in BAD defense.

Ergo, "settling the defenders down" with lower injury settings puts them in better positions to make a play, thereby making it "less" but actually "better" defense.

That's how it looks to me, anyway!

You guys are spot on: 10 / 10 INJ is definitely the core engine setting.

The only issue I had running 10 / 10, ironically, was too much offense. As an experiment, I bumped the CFM value up to 15, which "tightened" things back up, though maybe a bit too much. Over pursuit was evident and was indicative by an increase in TFL.

I'm curious to see if there is a happy-medium between 10 / 10 and 10 / 15, or if one click away from the core setting of 10 will cause us to exceed the threshold that the game engine is looking for. In other words, 10 / 15 and 10 / 40 could in theory lend themselves to similar or nearly identical results. If that's the case, there isn't going to be a happy-medium between 10 / 10 and 10 / 15.

I'll give 10 / 13 a run, for kicks...

Yes, absolutely. It may be the single most important setting in Madden, and it works in conjunction with the other two global sliders (fatigue and threshold).

The injury slider determines how much aggression / pursuit are produced. When this slider is too high, the game plays spastic. You'll see too much defense due to amped up levels of both aggression and pursuit.

If you're creating a set from scratch, the first thing I would dial in is INJ. I say this, as I'm fine tuning the INJ value in CFM at the end of the process...
