Nope. The issue is with EA and the developers. If they really wanted to invest and make franchise the best mode it could be then they would. The fact is they are worried about money and MUT makes money. If they made franchise a separate game they would just ignore it like they do now unless they could find a way to add micro-transactions to it.

Re: Would Madden be better if MUT and Franchise were different games

I think the biggest thing holding back Madden is the FOTF stuff. I think it's been confirmed in years past that the story modes are done by the franchise department. And those modes have been mostly onboarding players into MUT and the Yard (which has MXTs) EA does not want franchise players. EA cares not for single player games.

I would like to see what a Head Coach release would look like today. The exact same game with 4k/HD graphics.

For those that haven't played 09, the depth can't even be explained. Hands down the best franchise/management experience EA has rolled out.

I do understand its a niche game. I'm under no delusion it would break sales records. But I have no doubt it would be a success if they put the effort into it.

.. if they are going to kill franchise, I wish they would just get on with it! Hopefully another label would appeal to the NFL to fill that void.

I would like to see the MUT world be more of the live service with a franchise yearly/bi-yearly release. Head Coach is still an amazing game to go back to and I often wonder how it would have faired if gameplay could have been integrated. I would more than happily pay $70 for the version of franchise mode that I want to play.

Re: Would Madden be better if MUT and Franchise were different games

This would never happen nor would it work, they cannot be bothered to support one game, why would they support two? The issue isn’t the game modes being on one game, its that there is no competition and really no reason to go above and beyond year in and year out - at worst they get review bombed, but the game itself still sells regardless.

Edit: But in an ideal world yes, it would be better as two separate games. In an ideal world, we'd also be playing 2k's version of the game...

Re: Would Madden be better if MUT and Franchise were different games

Seems like there's a misconception that franchise is the only broken mode in this game. EVERY mode is broken, including the money maker MUT. Separating it into multiple games won't change anything. There are bigger issues. If Madden is going to be better in the future then EA needs to stop being so greedy and actually reinvest their profits into the game. They need to hire more devs and more competent devs (3+ months spent on one bug in franchise in a game that is a yearly release is absurd). They need to treat the devs that care about the game with more respect so they don't keep leaving (Rex, Swami, etc.).

EA doesn't care about players in any of their games (see Anthem, Battlefield 2042, Star Wars Battlefront 2, every EA sports game). They care about money. They know they'll make money on name recognition without investing in a quality product so they repeat the same pattern with all of their games, giving minimal effort and delivering broken games. They continually rake in the money and because of that nothing is ever going to change.
