Madden 15 Impressions (Impressions Only!)

Been playing for a couple days now on access, but not really any specific modes; just play now and a little bit of skills trainer. Here's my raw review and pros and cons.

Pros:
-The game looks beautiful graphically. Everything is very fluid.

-The NFL films stuff is a nice touch.

-Feels different. Players have more weight to them.

-All the "cheese" from previous Maddens is much harder to execute.

-The headlines before the game can be really cool as well. For example: I played a game Saints vs. Panthers, the new guy commentator talked about how two tight ends out of Miami would be going up against each other. Liked that a lot.

-Defense is fun, but then again I didn't mind defense in the first place.

-Skills trainer is very informative and even fun.

-Basically everything else everyone is mentioning.

Cons:

-Night games look bad. Comically bad. Especially with the 49ers or Saints outdoors. That's where gold turn into brown. On night games, the lighting is just atrocious.

-I'm an All-Madden guy, and maybe I'm just getting used to the new game, but All-Madden on default sliders is impossible. Quarterbacks are robotically accurate and running backs average 10 yards per carry.

-Very hard to defend the middle of the field against CPU

-Screen passes are very difficult to execute without throwing a pick or getting sacked. This could also be in the pros.

-Simply inexcusable getting colors on unis wrong at this point.

-DBs and zone coverage is improved, but they still have eyes in the back of their heads nonetheless.

- I find tackling difficult, but that's just me.

I'll edit as i find more. I really am enjoying it so far, though.

-Online play calling is TERRIBLE. I will not play online H2H until this is fixed. When on defense, you cannot choose your play until the other player on offense has chosen there's. Did I mention he gets 35 seconds to pick and you get 10? While the other guy is picking you stare at the play calling menu which reads: "Player picking personnel" and when you're on offense and you're waiting, you stare at the cardboard crowd.

I was trying to fast forward cause time was of the essence since it was a timed demo, but since I couldn't I just sat back and watched it and awed at the nice graphics as Cam was shouting out the play; then for it to suddenly give me control in was just awed!!!!!

So you can't skip that opening part it seems. Yuck.

I know but I still have no interest in playing it. Absolutely no big deal though.

Hey Skyboxer, are you getting realistic results from the cpu qb? I left the sliders at 50 and they were only missing like 2 passes a game. Seems like no matter what defense i play the wrs are always wide open.

You have to watch the initial movie but once you take over as Cam and the play call screen pops up, hit pause and you can select quit game
