More information on ridiculous catches "ruining the game."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=madhwueDv7E

This was also addressed in the last patch in November.

We are all well aware of this. The point isn't that it is overpowered (though I dare say it still is a bit), but that the 1 hand animations happen far too frequently to make the game actually feel realistic.

Though on the overpowered bit, even after the patch, I shouldn't be able to throw a deep bomb to a WR like Marlon Brown in 1 on 1 coverage and come down with it more often than not, many times 1 handed. Marlon Brown isn't a threat that teams have to put a guy over the top on in man coverage like a Dez, Julio, Mega, Alshon, etc. etc. etc.

Re: Ridiculous Catches ruin this game

There are so many fluid things that go into the results. It's not just about the receiver it's also about the defender, the QB who is throwing and the defense called.

I can understand the guys who think that certain animations play to much but that is really just personal opinion. I don't feel that way at all. I feel like I see guys try to make acrobatic catches all the time in real life and even if it is a bit more than real life it's a game. I might be the minority on OS but I'd rather have the game be fun and close to stat-accurate than 100% a simulation of what is on the field.

I absolutely love the way it is now. It's dare I say, perfect....for me. Anytime someone makes a blanket fact statement on something that is opinion is when the arguments start. Or when people start things like :"Anyone who thinks this game is good is keeping it from imo

Personally I hope they keep WR/DB interaction right where it is now next year. I think the Pass Rush is top notch too. Look at real numbers and it's actually pretty good. I think depending on who I am playing I get more pressure.

Lastly, anytime I feel that something seems off in my main Eagles CFM I play a game or 2 in my "All-32" CFM and play with different teams and all the same sliders and see if it's just me or something in the game because maybe my skills have increased.

Point is anytime you mess with Sliders or play in a CFM with confidence, etc things may play "different".

Personally the only thing they need to do for me next year to make me even happier is up the CPU run game a bit, especially for top tier running teams and poor run defenses and make the CFM more immersive, address Special Teams, Fix auto Subs and Add Formation Subs. That's a lot but if they hit all that without adjusting something else negatively it would be awesome.

I love this years game.

Off topic Rant over.

I'm going based on the title of this thread from the OP.

I think it all depends on what your breaking point is. I played a CFM game last night and I replayed every catch made, in traffic or one on one.

There were two one handed catches per 12 minute quarters the whole game and one of them was a back of the end zone catch on all pro default CFM.

It's only a one game sample size, but that result, in my opinion, leads me to believe it doesn't happen that frequently.

Again, it was only a one game sample size. I'll be checking all games moving forward as well.

I play with the Packers, and currently, IRL, the Packers, without Jordy Nelson, can't complete a deep ball(except for a hail mary) to save their life this year.

How many deep balls are thrown every Sunday in a game?

i did something like this at various points this year (mostly after patches) and I never saw more than 4 one handed catches in a game, and the time with 4 was a one time occurrence. Most of them the time there was 2 or less. A few games there wasn't any.

Maybe i'm missing something, or overlooking a ton of RL one handed catches, but arent even those numbers you both are quoting pretty high? I've seen 5 NFL games per week this season & the highlights of every game this season, and i think less than 1 one-handed catch per game is about right, and 90% of those are pretty basic, wide open catches where the QB throws it behind a guy and he manages to bring it in one-handed.

The one-handed catches in madden would probably be the play of the month in RL.

I don't know, last season in week 2, out of the top 5 catches on the NFL network, 4 out of 5 were one handed catches.

http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-videos...-Top-5-catches

Here is some more sprinkled in week 2 this year.

http://sports.cbslocal.com/2015/09/2...off-in-week-2/

If I see 2 or less a game in a video game, is it an issue?

As I said earlier, depends on your breaking point. Not enough to ruin the game for me(based on the thread title), but others may feel differently.
