No but they certainly could be building something in the background to eventually implement. I honestly hope that's what they're doing. The other sports games haven't taken years off, and the leaps have come due to co developing the current game and the new systems/code. I'll take a "meh" year of Madden if it meant next year alot of the old crap was replaced.

They're on record saying that rebuilding from the ground up for this generation (still don't see it) was a mistake, so I can only imagine them doing it this way. And I hope it's the case because they can't deliver the game they promise without an overhaul.

And all of this generation's releases have been meh IMO.

They did an overhaul between the Xbox/Xbox 360 gen but built this gen largely on the back of what was there at the end of that gen.

They built ground up for the ps4 Xbox one generation? I could of sworn the last ground up rebuild was for Xbox 360 PS3. Thought they just ported for this gen which is why we still have "legacy" issues.

It was. The Xbox 360 was the "ground up" rebuild. Which was rushed horribly and in the opposite direction they're trying to go now. Atleast Rex knows the hurdles. It was nice to see him come out and admit the game was still using gen 3 stuff. Who knows how much more garbage is still resting on the foundation of this game.

Man I drool thinking about what we would get if the team of Rex, Clint, etc got to do a ground up re-build.

Wrong generation. My bad. That makes more sense though I didn't see changes that I'd expect from a complete overhaul last gen either.

But I'd assume the same mindset going forward, so they'd have to get something major done prior to the next generation.
