Tackle Battle : What are your post release thoughts?

They do. You don't get a tackle battle if the attributes are lopsided in favor of the ballcarrier or the defender. This is very evident in the game we have in our consoles right now.

Again, tackle battles only occur when the game determines the result of the "is the ballcarrier tackled" calculation is a tie. Where the game previously contrived a tie break mechanism it has instead deferred to user input via a QTE to produce a result.

Another issue I've seen the tackle battles cause is, sometimes, it will completely disregard whatever actions the other defenders are taking to the ballcarrier.


Quite a few times, I found that I had lost the battle on the RB. Despite the fact that there are other defenders coming in to assist on the tackle, the game will allow him to completely ignore or shrug them off with the same animation he's using to break free of the Tackle Battle. Complete fail of physics display there.

It's so frustrating because it allows him to release himself from a cluster of (mostly second/third level) players - and have nothing but green real estate in front of him for an easy score.

Well it's pretty clear that OS is not in favor of this addition to the series. The results are about what I expected from my experience with it. I just really don't feel that it adds anything positive to the game.

What I don't like about it is that it disrupts my flow, when I'm trying to use the hit stick or stiff arm to break through, only to miss the button that flashes.

It feels like it is working against me.
