Tackle Battle : What are your post release thoughts?

Don't like it 90% of the time. Whenever the battle button is X I love it.

It's a mini game based on reflexes. I'm not sure what purpose it serves. I don't think I would dislike it as much if it was implemented in a way that didn't feel like a mini game based on reflexes.

While I am enjoying the game overall, I feel the tackle battle is silly, arcade-like and completely flies in the face that the Ignite engine is partially physics based. I am shocked that they put this feature into the game.

I'm in the 60% of folks who don't like it. It's an aesthetic immersion breaker for me and has little or nothing to do with the actual game of football as I see it. It seems to be there to keep a certain type of gamer "engaged," but it doesn't at all suit my taste.

I just don't get why we're forced into certain things. Let me toggle as much as possible on or off. That way, the folks who need a certain amount of button mashing to feel like they're engaged get what they want and the rest of us can game in peace.

That sounds curmudgeony, but it's comforting to know that the response rate in this category is as high as it is.

I don't like it. Always looks ugly when the runner squirts out like a wet bar of soap, or when the defender who's getting run over suddenly reverses all of BOTH players' momentum to fold the runner backwards.

I also don't like that the buttons are mapped to the face buttons. Because of the poor pursuit angles in this game, when I'm about to connect for a tackle, I often like to tap O (PS4) to switch to another defender to come in and clean up the tackle. But now, I often end up losing a tackle battle because pressing O to switch away from the current defender counts as a failed tackle battle. Very frustrating.

This feature should be thrown into the trash bin right on top of the QB vision cone.

On a related topic, I really wish that I could turn OFF the RB assists, but still leave the runner path predictor ON. I find that path predictor very helpful for steering on draws, counters, and on kick returns, but I hate that having it on means that the game basically ignores which evasive move I try to perform.

It would be interesting to here from players who play MUT or compete online if they like it or hate it? Imagine having a game decided by who can button bash the quickest... Eddy Gordo wins!

I had a major game in a MUT online game decided in such a fashion and let me tell, AGGRAVATING. I hope they ditch this feature the more I think about it...I sort of hate it tbh
