Which do you prefer Offline or Online?

I'm 39 yrs old with a wife, kid and a full time job. When I find the time to play Madden, I want to play as close to a sim game as possible. While there are leagues or individuals who play sim, my schedule has to work with them in order to get a realistic/sim game. That gets much harder as you get older.

I'm offline only and probably will be for the rest of my life.

Scheduling/location is a bigger conflict than finding other sim people. There are plenty of sim minded online CFM people out there. Unfortunately the ones who have flexible enough schedules to do it tend to be college age. For older people like yourself, it's really, really hard.

One guy who runs a somewhat famous sim league allegedly lost a girlfriend due to his necessary committeemen to the league. Guy by the name of JazzyJeff or something like that.

But fathers with kids can't afford the necessary commitment, lest their wives make them sleep on the couch. Therein lies the true roadblock to sim online CFM for most people, and it's why improving the A.I. is so important.

Still, if you have a flexible enough schedule, not much beats being in an online franchise league with sim minded people.

Yup. I'm 39, with a wife and two kids. I only game after 10pm when I get the chance.

Plus, I cannot get broadband where I live, no matter how I want it. So for me, offline is a mandate. Haven't seen anyone else mention that yet. There are about 30-40 million Americans who don't have access.

I may be right behind you. I still play online only CFM but max 18 users for the reasons outlined above.

Practice? Yeah right. Hard enough finding time in the 48 hour window to play. I've been running an online CFM since inception and NCAA, never won a Super Bowl. Ever (worst commish on the sticks)

I think I won 1 national championship in NCAA. Go gators.
