Re: Lighting Patch?

Maybe EA can just enable stadium lights for 1pm games.

But seriously, HDR off is the way to play it IMO. The sunlight is so much stronger.

Give us the same HDR implementation seen in Star Wars Battlefront 2.

I’d like to see what settings you’re using as I’m curious how much they differ from mine.

Re: Lighting Patch?

Idk maybe Ea was trying to show off the power of the new engine lighting wise and it just didn't work totally as planned it seems there are way to many cases of very good looking lighting to lighting that almost seems buggy, then you factor in individual preference and its hard to say what's wrong or not wrong, the game graphically is very nice this year but with proper lighting touches in the correct situation it can really let this game shine graphically.

Who knows if lighting is even something that is patchable, the more I play the more my eyes are adapting to the darker look in some situations but this lighting topic is becoming as big as gameplay issues at this point which says a lot. Hopefully Ea will at least let us know if the lighting is something they are looking at fixing or something that was the games design.

Let me know and I will PM them to you.

Here's an example of shadows on my set that I took with my phone

Can you post your settings? I have a Ks8000 and my greens are way too bright, almost neon. Maybe your settings will help.

Re: Lighting Patch?

Alright everyone, here are my settings for both my television and my Xbox One X. I have a Samsung KS8500. When I got the set I went to several professional calibration sites and used them as a guide on how to set my tv up. Now before anyone says that's not the same as using a professional calibrator and I am well aware of that but using these settings has done just fine for me thank you.

Ok, here we go...On your tv in the Samsung menu, game mode on, picture size 16:9 standard

Expert settings:

Backlight 20
Brightness 45
Contrast 100
Sharpness 50
Color 50
Tint g/r dead center middle

Digital clean view: off
Auto motion plus : off
Smart LED: high
Film mode: off
HDMI UHD Color : on for all HDMI inputs
HDMI Black level: auto
Dynamic Contrast : low
color Tone: warm1
White balance: 2 point (all set to 0)
Gamma: 0
RGB Only mode: off
color space: auto

On Xbox one settings

display & sound:
Video output: 4K UHD
Video modes: allow 50 hz checkmarked
Allow 24 hz checkmark d
Allow YCC 4:2:2 checkmarked
Allow 4k checkmarked
Allow HDR checkmarked

Video fidelity & over scan:
Color depth: 30 bits per pixel (10 bit)
Color space: Standard (recommended)

Outside border: apps can add a border checkmarked

The only real setting I did on my own that was against the "professional" advice was to turn on DYNAMIC CONTRAST to low. Most sites said not to use any Dynamic Contrast but I went with how it looked to me. Without it the tv looked too dark and I felt I lost detail. Low is perfect, you can go medium or even high if you want but I think you then you really do start to lose a lot of detail and get a washed out look.

I hope this can help some folks who have a Samsung or a similar set to it.

Please provide feedback in here if you feel it helped any because it may make things a little better for all of us until/if EA patches things.
