Performance mode on ps5 and series x are way different.

On PS5 it locks everything to 60fps and on series X it unlocks the FPS to go up to 120fps during gameplay and replays but has major dips in cutscenes or screen splashes to 40fps to 120fps...Reason it works well is because series x offers VRR

That is incorrect

PS5 Quality mode is 60fps gameplay, 30fps everything else

PS5 performance mode is 60fps all the time

Are you sure? Has anyone tried turning the HDR off in ps5 settings and then go performance mode? You have to do that in Warzone for some reason to get the 120 fps

You have to have an hdmi 2.1 tv or monitor though...
