The Developers didn't come out and retract the original story, it was one of their managers that did, Seann Graddy.

I don't think Developers forgot about us when two are responding on Twitter since the game arrived, just some either on their own or via the company decided to go radio silent.

Now, it's a matter of choosing which side you are on, and I believe the truth lies somewhere inbetween. lol

We can all speculate on this and that and what not.

So we're giving them a pass for adding two updates a minimum of 5 months after the game is released? We're not even getting information about the updates until "the new year" who knows when they'll arrive.



A cute little PR statement doesn't change the lack of effort they've given over the past 5 months since the beta. The still haven't fixed those bugs, the launch bugs, the scouting update bugs... I'll believe that they're adding something substantial when i see it.

This is SGOs followup. Worth a read for their half of the story. Apparently they stand by their original report and think EA is changing the course after they ran their story. Also the next 2 planned updates were an overhaul to the scenario engine and a big expansion to the coaching trees according to SGO.

In the end, this moment of Franchise talk just circles gamers of the Mode back around to highlight that in the end, Franchise Mode will not be released as a full package, but in pieces that can/will be months apart.

With everything linked together and impacting other mode components, I don’t see how this delayed feature application benefits the Franchise community or the mode in itself.

Essentially the Franchise gamer is being asked to purchase last years mode at launch, while waiting/hoping that any of the marketed features comes to fruition and 2nd, actually works without bugs etc… because fixes for Franchise rarely happen expeditiously.

Based on the M21 mode Update timeline, Franchise Mode gamers will not see a fully intended/completed mode feature application until April, just 4 months away from next Madden release.

Lastly, it’s interesting how updated Asset Customization in Franchise seems to never be one of the top requested features based on EA’s notations in interviews.

So will these promised updates consist of the Franchise community actual desires or just something injected for the sake of saying Updates where done to the mode, esp in light of the latest Franchise uproar this story created?

I'll sum it up for those that don't want to read it.

It's an article with a bunch of speculation that doubles down on their first article full of a bunch of speculation. But because EA didn't want to comment directly to the speculation, it's EAs fault and they had to be covering their tracks.

This whole "sources" thing is irrelevant. They are a reliable source until they are wrong which happens all the time. The fact remains that if they were "reliable" they wouldn't be talking out of school in the first place.

I dunno. I like SGO but when it's a topic like Madden and franchise, which is basically at the best of times, kindling soaked in gasoline, the responsible thing is to be reaaaaaal certain you are right before you light that match.

Maybe SGO feels they were.
