Honestly, Madden 09 the game that's sucked the enthusiasm out of me

This is spot on.....and if EA continued to have competition 09 might have actually been the game that everyone has been dreaming about. Instead, it's 06-08 with a new coat of paint and some missing features.

No they didn't, until the Manefesto came out. A dedicated group of gamers picked apart the 05 programming and found 2 or 3 steps that were not coded into the game. By creating a way to alter the game, thereby simulating the missing steps, the teams began to have a personality close to their NFL counterparts. Funny thing is......the first step was to control all 32 teams. That in itself was frowned upon and a lot of gamers still frown upon it. Personally, ever since that step I've chosen to control all 32 teams regardless of need. Its exciting to me to draft and choose FA's for all the teams knowing that I'm actually targeting a true "need". The other cool thing about controlling all the teams in 05 was that you target a needed player and then have all the teams "in the running" bid the same bid, leaving the player to decide which team he wanted to go to. Eventually I added a house rule and said that the last three teams from the prior year could bid a higher amount for the FA. This still didn't guarantee them the FA, while giving the "bottom feeders" a good possibility to pick up a key FA or two.

Head over to Maddenmania,and do a search for the "Madden manifesto".
This was created by alot of dedicated Madden fans for 05,and imo,it made 05 ALOT better.

I play madden a lot, but it's only because I'm addicted to competition. I only play online and it's to move up in rank. Sometimes I don't even want to play the game, I just want to fast forward to the result of the game. I will admit that I do have fun outsmarting my opponent, but the game itself is lack luster.

lol this has been done soo many times im actually shocked that people think this stuff is new..you guys hate madden so much you even go to the madden section skipping over every single section NOT madden just to post the agenda in which 1000000,0000000 others posted. and to add insult to injury august of this year? you guys who are the first to make these threads will be right back out again doing the same thing. save the energy and read a book fellas.
