Fade, I gotta admit, I wasnt on your team when we first bumped heads here at OS, but now, I'm lookin, and Im likin'. LMAO. I'd invite you over to my house anytime for cookies and ice cream my man. That post is funny as hell.

As per the topic, I actually would prefer no online franchise as opposed to one thats incomplete. This way I could get on with my life now as opposed to playing the "well it might be updated cause its server side" game until christmas when they finally say it will be in Madden 11. I just dont know why they couldnt have just done a solid online league thing, I mean its like alst year they had online league with some crazy non NFL scheduling and no playoff system like the nfl,etc. Now we get this. I mean what gives? what do they have against us just being able to run a league, as a commish this game makes more work than it helps.

Re: Most new features in Madden 10 still a work in progress?

I try to be as open minded to the prospect of Madden 10, especially considering the fundamental changes that the team has made this year.

I'm usually of the mindset that if you can't do something right, then don't do it at all. But that logic doesn't really fit in this scenario because the features that are missing aren't game-breaking; whereas if they hindered gameplay, then I'd be very upset. I still think a lot of you are underestimating co-op gameplay; I for one am truely stoked about this feature.

Adaptive AI (on defense but not offense) {I don't think that's entirely true}

Online co-op (but only against the cpu) {Online Co-OP is over-rated. I promise this feature will not be as cool as it seems. When was the last time you and a friend actually played on the same team? I used to have the 4 man hook up for Madden on PS2- lasted about a day

Extra Point (wrap ups but no highlights) {I guess I can agree here too, but I swear people ask for this just because it was in 2K5, how many really care to watch a highlight show?}
I care about the top 2 items....I'm not saying they need to be in this year. All i am saying is that there are people that care.

If your focus is only on what's missing, that's really an endless argument as no game in history has everything right? Do people complain that you can't fly the chopper in COD? Expectations are so different for every person but at some level it would be nice if folks realized that we aren't shipping an 'incomplete' game...we are shipping a game that will ALWAYS be improved upon.

Would you prefer no refs or refs that don't throw flags?
No recap show or a recap show that can be built on?
No co-op or 2 player co-op?
No online franchise or a server-based online franchise that can be updated?

I'm not really posing these questions to you guys...these are the decisions we had to make.
By no means should it be taken as a slight to call them incomplete, because by your own post, building for the future implies a sort of incompleteness. it's a step, and it's okay, but what I'm referring to is the overwhelming feeling that some of these things will be fully done in 11, which leads to excitement for the new edition before the current one is even out. Can you see where that might be problematic for those who haven't even played Madden 10 yet?

It's like being told that on Wednesday we're getting cookies, but when we get there, there's just the dough and we're told to wait until next Wednesday where they'll be baked. Only to get there next Wednesday and we can see the cookies and they look really good, but they're a bit smaller than we expected, but we've been told that we can expect bigger and better cookies next Wednesday...

I am glad it is, in some fashion...in the game.

But I still would like to know the design decision, to why it was not able to be put in, to run for the whole game.
When it first came up, I think alot people really wanted it in for the whole game, or at least the option for a setting.

I guess really, I would just like to know it, could or will happen in future editions....it just was to hard to change it this time ? ?

(Ps...Can we Edit players physical looks Ht/Wt/Color/Hair/Body Sizes ?)

I see your point, but it's not the same for everyone.

For those that were listed, the only thing I care about is the half-time show. I don't play on-line, no co-op, and not a big deal for me if the refs throw the flags. Some people care about everything listed above and that's fine. Different strokes for different folks.

Not having the half time commentary is not a deal-breaker for me, either.

No need to explain yourself! This game is going to be the ****! Coach Ruckus interview says it all! You can't make everyone happy and the madden heads have been spoiled and expectations are so high because everyone loves this game. I myself throw out stuff as well that might improve the game which are just ideas and constructive critiscism but in the end I am so excited for this game and will be there at midnight to pick this game up!!!

But I am getting tired of all the bashing of EA's team when this will be the BEST FOOTBALL game of ALL TIME!!! Who remembers playing tecmo bowl with only 12 teams? Who remembers playing Atari 3on3 football? Who remembers playing no football video games because they didn't exist? Be happy with what we got! These guys are the pro's, they love this game, and only have less than a year to make a new madden. They as a team put in what they can and have to make big decisions what to put in next year and build on. You will not get everything or the perfect game EVER! Thats what they strive for but it's impossible! Maybe in 30 years, 2 systems from now.

Great job EA, Ian, and co.!!! If I was Ian I would have left the boards by now and blown up on people. He's alot bigger person than I am that's for sure! You all are calling him out as a person with his career and what he does for a living! Reverse the roles if your job was on OS?! Anyways, let's keep it constructive and limit the bashing. We all want a great game, but let's keep it to debates and constructive critiscism. And to Ian, you will never make everyone happy and who cares really? Do what you do and keep your passion for this franchise along with your vision! I for 1 love where your taking this franchise! KEEP IT UP & THANKS!YOU ROCK BRUTHA!!!
