Is there any way to get the CPU to run well?

When defenders get close to the CPU running back, select on them and dive the other way. This may help them get extra yardage.

I really don't think it has anything to do with me being good. I usually control a DE or an LB. It seems like I can get to the ball carrier pretty easily with one of them, if not the cpu is.

PJV, I wish I had that problem, lol. I'm playing using MySkill and the CPU runs very effectively. Of course, I'm using the Lions, but hey, I am seeing it. I did run a bunch of Play Now games and teams with dominant HB's were able to gain yards on me. I still remember the very first play of Madden 10 was a 38-yard run by S. Jackson against my Giants.

Hang in there, man. This game has more going for it than against it.

I am mostly playing as a DE or LB as well.

Now I feel inadequate about my stick skillz.

Problem is "this is the game".

For all those who want to believe different (who are no doubt playing the game) play a game on default sliders CPU v CPU. See how unbalanced it is. They can pass, but they can't run.

Individual people who control players might not have this problem due to their skill input, but make no mistake this is an inherent flaw in the game.

Caused by:
the OL's inability to run block. Mainly due to blockers not blocking the right people, leaving defenders to run free at the ball carrier. Or they block the wrong defender from a terrible angle and get "blowed up".
the OL's overpowered pass blocking. Many people have pointed out how scrub linemen can hold off the best pass rushers in the game like they were playing High Schoolers.

This problem goes back to forever. I bought my first Madden in years with this one. And I find the Same Old ****.
