Now is this a patchable issue or is this just something that is going to stay broken
Welcome to the next generation of video game football. This has been pointed out by many others, including myself. However, "adaptive" AI in Madden 10 certainly does deserve its own thread.

Re: So this adaptive AI

Another thing I got with the AI right now. Is the AI on all pro setting is like very hard to throw and run agaist. It seems that 80% of the time the AI is either playing bump and run coverage and blitzing are it's just plain playing bump and run coverage. When the AI is playing bump and run and the AI always blitzing passing is almost impossible. Are run it looks like you are going throw and but choose a run play. The AI always has a group of linebackers at the line of scrimmage ready to stop the run. No matter what I do. The AI is always in perfect postion to either int the ball are swat it down most of the time. I can accept the AI adjusting a the same play I run every single play. But when the AI does not no the meaning of adaptive on all pro. Then there is something wrong. In other words the AI plays almost perfect D everytime I play agaist it. I can't even hardly even get separation on the AI to even make a play. It's almost impossible to even complete a pass to a WR doing a curl route are hook route because the AI is always doing the press coverage most of the time are is always in postion to jump the route are knock it down. The AI adaptive to plays need to tweak and as far as the AI always been perfect on every play needs to change.

What do you think happened? Is that stuff there and we don't see it? Or did some of it get cut for size or technological reasons. These guys seemed so positive that all this stuff worked, I'm just curious as to what might have possibly happened.

Re: So this adaptive AI

Versus All Pro, I can pass all day long. Running the ball, though, I just struggle. I'm messing with sliders as we speak, because I shouldn't have defenders in my backfield 1 second after the hand off on every play.

I had a playoff game last night, season 4 of my franchise. Here I am with Knowshon Moreno who is now a 94 overall and even has a trucking of 85 and elusiveness of 99. I gained 20 yards for the entirety of the game versus the Patriots, for a 1.1 YPC. Passing? 410 yards. In that game, I had my running blocking slider set to 100, and the CPU's rush defense reaction set to 10 and block shedding set to 10. I did not use sprint all game, I followed my blockers, etc. The problem was that I had defenders in my backfield consistently, versus an offensive line of 95/84/86/86/92 overall.

Now, that doesn't mean I don't have okay games. I can get 60 yards in some games. The same is said for the CPU. I've never had a CPU gain more than 70 yards on me, and I've given the CPU similar boosts in the running game.

Completely agree. Community iteraction becomes nothing but a marketing ploy when then end result (retail version of the game) does not contain what was decided and presented to the community.

Curious- what specifically are you referencing that was in the blogs but not in the game? I know we're saying that the Adaptive AI isn't as pronounced as it should be, but what else?

The only thing I can think of that didn't make it in is the instant replay options. We were supposed to have few, moderate, or frequent as options (or something to that effect). Obviously, that didn't make it in.
