I feel like we need a new, post-World Series Champion thread for the Cubs. I didn't want to put "defending champ" in the thread title because I don't want to seem like a Yankees fan or something pretentious like that.

I think Candelario turns into trade bait. Happ might, too, but I think he has more of a chance to make it as a utility bench player. Jimenez hopefully takes over for Heyward (fingers crossed that Heyward opts out after next season).

Starters looking good against the Sox today. Still trying to wrap my head around Schwarber at leadoff. I don't think it's a bad move, just different - something I'm not used to. And yet it's exactly the kind of thing that The Show's game engine has done for so many years - it's just weird to actually see it done in real life.

Hawk is still insufferable.

Baez is too good to not play at least 2/3 games. Plus gloves at 1B, 2B, SS, RF, CF...

I don't exactly know what to do with this embarrassment of riches...I don't think Javy or Zobrist deserve or should accept a limited/reduced role. I'd like to see Zobrist take one for the team and play pretty much everyday, but in RF/LF/2B as the situation dictated...get Baez more time in the OF, he's a world-class infielder, but it wouldn't hurt if it gets his bat in the lineup a little more. He's going to demand personally and thru his play, i would imagine, to be the starter sooner rather than later.
