Here is a couple of musts IMO.

7 catchers
5 1B
5 3B(you can count dual 1B/3B if you like....and that's one thing I would like to see on secondary positions....keep it to the "likely" positions. If the guy has played LF 4 times in 3 years of minor league play so far...don't give him OF as a secondary )
5 of each of the OF positions
For pitchers....I like to see at least 6 SP at each level(if your team doesn't go with 6(1 LRP perhaps)...at the MLB level....you can add an extra in the minors.
Single A...is a great "dumping ground" for those extra players stockpiled at any position.
I wouldn't worry about level too much(until we can get Kolbe to fill out Single A and get us a 15-20 player Rookie(Low A) level(which would be like the current Single A except it would generate stats)...as much as getting in the prospects you like.

Thanks. I was wondering about that. I'll try to stick to the opening day rosters for the minor league clubs and mix in the High and Low A guys throughout.

Re: Operation Sports Full Minors 2011 - Recruiting

Good info on the breakdown for positions.

I'm doing the exact same thing. Glad to see we're all on the same page here. I have about 80 guys listed for the Giants and I can tell it's gonna be tough deciding on who to create and who to leave off.

By the way, Knight, do you want us to send you spreadsheets or anything to double check before the release? I'm working on one right now and for the most part I have ht, wt, age, etc listed. I pretty much only have to work on including equipment and batting stances/pitching motion.

Also, do you know if the generic batting stance #'s are going to correspond exactly between MLB 10 and 11? In other words, is generic batting stance X going to be the same this year as it was last year? It would make things go quickly upon release if I already have that info in my spreadsheet.

One last question, Is there anyway Kolbe can slide us some info on the players who will be in the game upon release? I know, for the most part, we can assume any player with MLB service time and the 40 man rosters will be included. Is that a safe assumption?

Thanks!

Yep...those last few cuts are tough!
Rag has a pretty good breakdown through his club of A/B/C/D....perhaps a few more B's than I would...but we do want to have fun too!...but as long as they are in line with the chart(the ratings one I'm working on)...should be good.
I'm running some more testing with progression(even though I have a feeling Kolbe and Jeff changed it up a bit now..)..

Not sure about the stances....the gens should be the same though.

I don't think Kolbe has the time, quite honestly...it's gonna be us on release day.

I don't need the spreadsheet...just a PM or post with the players and your thoughts on potential.....that's good enough to start.

jns12....Ridin is working the Phils...I think he'd take the help though.
