Any of the sliders posted in this thread plays pretty solid games already even though they aren't finalized. Check the stats people posted and should just try the one you like. People are trying to get closer and squeezing the last bit, but for casual people any set would give you a good starting point already.

My last set was fairly accurate but I am now testing a couple minor tweaks. Hope to have a good sample size by the end of the weekend and a posting of the results. My latest test is being done in exibition mode with alternating games in the National and American Leagues. I am also rotating starters to get a feel for an entire staff and not just a match-up of aces. Early results are promising, but are exactly that.....early.

Re: CPU vs CPU

Guys... I have been using a set of slider that has changed everything for me. well as far as the show goes anyway. I am finally playing games that not only are on the money statistically... but just as important to me... I am watching a real game of baseball unfold before my eyes. The variety of animations has been opened up I think because of the different things that are now doing on on the field. So much emphasise being put on leaving as many slider at default as possible, when in reality they are there for a reason... for us to change! This set moves virtually every slider. Some a little but others are drastically (and necessary). I would post some stats for you but they are strictly from a blue nays franchise and I didn't know if you would think the results would be skewed. Also you have to see the game unfold before your eyes to believe it.
I don't know if you want anyone posting slider on this thread or just ninjoid and dai and variations on thier work. Let me know the show community, and I will enlighten you on the secrets of life... or at least the show 11.

Re: CPU vs CPU

Ok boys. Give these a try for a few games and tell me i'm crazy... lol

The first, most important, absolute thing that needs to be done. is...
Change all three gameplay settings to legend...
I know there has been alot said about how this has no affect on CPU vs CPU but trust me on this.

Most credit goes to Snake Pliscken
I Obviously made the nesessary changes to allow for CPU vs CPU play Plus a tweek to power
Human and cpu sliders are now the same

Contact -- 3
Power -- 4
TImimg -- 7
Foul Frequency -- 5
Solid Hits -- 4
Starter Stamina -- 6
Reliever Stamina -- 0
Pitcher Control -- 7
Pitcher Consistancy -- 8
strike Frequency -- 5
Manager Hook -- 6
Pickoffs -- 5
Pitch Speed -- 5 (or whatever)
Fielding errors -- 6
Throwing Errors -- 6
Fielder running speed -- 0
Fielder Reaction -- 2
Fielder arm strength -- 3
Baserunner Speed -- 4
Baserunner Steal Ability -- 3
Baserunner Steal Frequency -- 5
Wind -- 4
Injury Frequency -- 5

Try these out and tell me that it doesn't look and play and feel more like real BALL
GO JAYS

Thanks for giving my sliders a shot. Are you seeing enough walks? I really think there's a big difference in the way with guys with good BB/9s pitch compared to guys with poor BB/9s. I, of course, play the games myself and I'm averaging over 2 walks a game. I could average more but sometimes I'm a little swing happy and that slider is extra nasty this year, so hard to read. I always read the slider as being a little bit higher than it is so I have a tendency to swing at too many low sliders.

---

I think I just realized why there isn't as many 4 pitch walks as we'd like to see. I really don't think the CPU's pitching AI feels the need to pitch around guys nearly as often as pitchers in real life do. That's probably where most of the 4-5 pitch walks come from. I kind of thought it odd that 1 out of every 5 walks is a 4 pitch walk because very few guys have the 3-0 green light and any pitcher (that hasn't really lost his release point) can throw a strike basically at will. When I watch baseball and I see my team's pitcher give up a 4 pitch walk (when he's not trying to walk the guy), I'm always thinking send the pitching coach out there and get someone up in the pen.

Re: CPU vs CPU

Hey snake... didn't think we would see you in this particular thread so I hope you don't mind I went ahead and posted your slider. (for the most part.lol) for all the CPU vs CPU brethren
Ya I just finished game 11 in the sample I'm doing.
So far my walks per team per game are 2.96
Real league average is 3.25.
So just under but again only 11 game sample so far... but all the stats seem to be inline with real league averages. But what I am really enjoying is the running catches in the outfield sometimes with great dives. Leaps at the wall. Bloopers just over the shortstops head and just shy of the outfielders reach. Tons of real world stuff going on here.
Thanks for the slider start brother.
