That is actually the perfect fix IMO.

Yeah, don't fear the patch, Jim. It's actually better for CPU roster control ON guys like us. Why?

Because now you can set your lineups after spring training (have to do it after spring training because st jumbles them up).
After you set them after spring training, when you sim it works great. Guys will be in the correct order in the boxscore, and everything. Pitching rotations stick as well.

For games you play, you'll just have to use the sportscast method with 2 controllers or the one I PMed you and posted here earlier (2 controllers after selecting play, selecting lineups and then switching back to CPU once the game starts).

Knight is right about the baserunning as well. I am not sure how guys read that the wrong way, it states CPU in the post.

I know this wasn't listed, but has anyone played a game in the Metrodome yet? Everytime a bomb was hit off of the folded up seats in right-center it wasn't counted as a HR. I doubt they fixed it since it's in the last year, but I was holding out hope. It's annoying whenever I hit one out with Nick Punto.

I set Helton to bat 3rd in all 4 Rockies' lineups via the CPU Roster Control screen. It seemed to work fine at first but it didn't stick. I kept simming a week at a time and checking the box scores for the Rockies games and Helton stayed batting 3rd for a while, but eventually when I kept simming deeper into the schedule and I checked the box scores, Helton was regularly batting lead off again. I'm not exactly sure how far into the season it was, but I'm pretty sure it was past the All-Star break (I plan to try this again later tonight). So it would appear that this work around doesn't stick, nor does the fix work as Russell described
Good catch, forgot to mention that someone noticed this earlier. Yes, this happens because when guys fatigue, the CPU logic takes over again and Helton sits, then when they bring him back up he goes to the top again. You just have to redo some of those messed up lineups and keep an eye on them if you accurate lineups. It's a pain, but its better than what we had.

Ugh, im being pretty picky at this point, but im getting aggravated pretty bad. The options seem to be this.

1) Use Knights lineup fix rosters. This will give you lineup fixes for MLB teams, but not for AAA or AA, or any pitching rotation. You will also have the historical stat issue. You will still be able to have trades, injuries etc (Roster control off)

2) Use an SCEA roster (or even Knights stock roster). You can set (in franchise only, after spring training) all the correct lineups (with roster control on). All the lineups and rotations can be fixed. You may have the stat issue (depending on who's roster you use). You will NOT have injuries or trades/signings unless you go in do them all yourself, thus taking away from your own "baseball universe"

There is no inbetween, which I dont understand. Id like to be able to set the lineups out of franchise and then start one with injuries and all that jazz on.

Like i said, im being real nit picky and most people probably dont care, just my two cents. Id like to have all the right stats/rosters/lineups/rotations and start my own "baseball universe"

ok i know some ppl mite already know this, but others were still wondering about it: in regards to the patch effecting pre-existing franchises schedule times. at first glance, you do not need to start a new franchise for it to take effect. i DL the patch, loaded my old franchise, and the game times were all fixed and correct.everything else was still the way i had saved it prior to this (im sure the other patch fixes applied to the franchise as well, but i only looked at the schedule times). However, after just a few minutes, the game crashed back to the ps3 screen. So basically the patch effects saved franchises to a point. it may have something to do with me using old rosters (Ridin's rosters released on April 4th), apparently the new patch scratched all the coding for the old rosters. this may be the cause for why the franchise crashes. does anyone have any idea if this can be worked around. also, has anyone not run into this problem in their franchise?

I have Knight's OSFM v2 rosters.....if I download the update, can I still use his roster like I was pre-patch or will it now be flawed?

So yeah...this ish is SMALL potatoes(if you know what I mean....just a shame some guys can't see it that way.)

On another note...

Doc....someone also PM'ed me about another solution to the lineups...one that won't require a second controller. I did NOT get a chance to check it though and it might be a bit of a pain for some.
When you go to play your game...choose a SPORTSCAST game....then before the first pitch...ENTER the game and the lineup is the roster control lineup from what he said.
If someone can confirm this....it's a pretty good work around.

Yes, it is small potatoes. I take care of some of our Veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan at the VA, and that will give you a reality check real quick. Some of these guys were hit with IEDs.

Yes, he mentioned that one in the workaround lineup thread I started, but forgot to mention that here. It was a great idea. I have not tried it yet. I will try it out soon and get back to everyone. I bet it does work well.

Speaking of reality checks, I just got MLB 2K9 from the library so I can get the patch to some people. Now that game is a reality check!

Yeah I saw that... I'm not a huge baseball fan but from what I remember that should be a HR... so I was surprised when it bounced off the seats and the guy was still rounding bases... so.. that problem still seems to be there... although I didn't check it after this patch, although I doubt this patch fixed i.t
