If you play a game and then micro analyze the stats, you’re never getting out of the slideritis.

What SDS does better than any other sports game, is capture the variability of their sport. Baseball is the ultimate variance sport. You’ll NEVER be satisfied trying to hit “averages”. Averages are just that, they don’t mean that’s what happens game in game out.

Play 20, 50, 80 games and then you can START to make judgements. Sliders shouldn’t dictate outcomes. They just support the gameplay.
Guess I am OCD about stats and averages being as close to real life as utterly possible. And I've played at least 50 games pitching only for both teams. 70 franchise games on top of that. Less than 10 total, not for one team is extremely rare and do not happen IRL hardly ever. Just yesterday's games alone averaged 18.65 hits total per game. I truly envy those who can just pick up the game and play. I wish I could do that lol

Not two days ago the Giants and dodgers had 10 combined hits… LAD arguably best lineup in the sport.

The SAME day mariners and Red Sox combined for 5.

Two days before that Reds and Cards combined for 10.

Day before that Rays and cards combined for 5

Right...that's still extremely rare. You gave two games less than 10 hits combined out of 40 or so played in those three days.

Suppose we have different definitions of extremely rare then. I suppose keep chasing 18.65 hits in a game, now that’d be extremely rare

This…..

I am having a blast on 22. Went thru some hiccups from update 1.7…..but we are loving the gameplay (sans check swings).

I am locked into my set up and have zero hang ups. The variety I am experiencing is fantastic.

And in MLB 20 (you know this was coming too) it is baseball nirvana. Hence why I continue to fully enjoy that title as well.

22 = modern day franchise
20 = legacy Y2Y chises and classic baseball.

I am in video baseball gaming heaven.

Less than 1% is extremely rare to me so I suppose we do have different definitions. And 16 is average. Again I envy those who can just pick it up and play without worries of what happens. I was just sharing real life stats. Excuse me, sir.

I wish I could just play like you do and not look at stats, data, and compare to real life averages.

I should ignore this and move on, since you aren't really adding anything to Ren's initial conversation.

My initial post was trying to help some folks take a different look instead of freaking out over a single game box score- a conversation I have with many on this site.

FWIW since I do not look at stats or compare to real life averages, my Tigers chise- 111 games in every pitch/AB played:

Hits allowed: 968
Hits for: 913

You do the math... just over 16 per game combined! Imagine that.

The only two stats that look a bit off (as they are both legacy issues), my walks issued and my GIDP. Everything else just about in line with "real life" averages.

Carry on though, you must get zero enjoyment from video games. Couldn't be me.
