Everyone uses buttons to hit, unless you are telling Siri to swing for you...

Just messing with ya, All hitting modes use a PCI. Everyone associates the PCI with Zone, but Analog and Timing still secretly use one under the hood... so all hitting modes will get some sort of benefit from this thing.

It's pretty simple better swing timing will result in better more solid contact, and vice versa if your late on pitches your going to be punished more.

With this input system and using timing/directional hitting if we get good timing on our swings will that always result in a hit or will it take into account the players attributes?

Nope that's not realistic at all. Your input means more for the positive and the negative. You should swing, look at swing analysis and go up that's about right.

Does it affect fielding and how would it affect classic pitching?

So as we have all noticed it matters where you place the pci in regards to whether or not you hit a flyball vs a groundball. What I'm wondering is if we think of the pci as an actual bat where would the sweet spot be, dead center or slightly more towards the outside?

The sweet spot is dead center.

The PCI doesn't represent the bat, it represents the hitters eye.

Ok, never knew it was supposed to me yours eyes.

I thought PCI stood for plate coverage indicator seems like it would be a bat more than your eyes. I guess if dead center is the sweet spot it doesn't really matter what it represents.
