Pitchers can live by the foul territory in Oakland, and they can die by it.

The two-edged sword is real. And baseball wields it well.

My gripe is that my signature still exists...

I personally like how the CPU is actually pitching smart in situations where a DP is needed. It's up to you as the batter to lay off those pitches and force them to give you something better to hit.

I really think its the game and not me because I have had this issue ever year and like I said it like happens even when I am hitting well over all. I can have a game where I get 10 runs and like 16 hits and most likely I will still have hit into at least 1 double play in the game and its like I can get a great pitch to hit have good timing and PCI placement and I will still hit a ground ball and it sure feels like the CPU will make more great plays to when I have a guy on first base.

I know when I hit into a double play, it's usually because where I placed the bat on the ball, and the type of pitch that's thrown.

If you're swinging at a pitch low in the zone in a pitchers count, you're probably going to hit a ground ball. You can't say it's the game and not you, when no one else is blaming the game.

Go outside and hit a low cutter or a low fastball from a major league pitcher, your ball is going to be on the ground off the bat.

Anyway, not to derail the topic anymore, my major gripe with this game is the catchers and foul pop ups.

Every other foul ball seems to be a pop up right to the catcher, or a looping, high pop up that always stays in the field of play and up long enough for the ai to get the out.

Catchers react too quickly in this game. It seems no matter the ratings, they can all fly out of their stance to catch a pop up or fire the ball to first o a dropped third strike or swinging bunt in front of the plate. Are they man or machine?

If it were the game, everyone would be crying foul.

Re: My only gripe. Too many plays made by the catcher. What's yours?

Gripe 1: Outfielders play every hop perfect off the wall. I lay at PNC a lot and a line drive off Clemente wall doesnt just bounce right back to the outfielder and a hit into the notch in left center doesnt take a predictable bounce. I have had hits down the line that go to the wall and have been held to a single because they play the perfect bounce and then smoke it to 2nd.

Gripe 2: Foul balls always staying in play. There are not that many plays in foul territory in a typical MLB game but in this game the catcher might make 3-4 outs on pop flies behind the plate.

Gripe 3: The CPU always seems to know when you steal and they throw the pitch out. I vary when I steal all the time so its not like I have a pattern. It doenst matter if i go on the first pitch, down 0-1 0-2 or 1-2, up 1-0 or 2-0 and I have had them pitch out on a 2-2 count to drive it to a full count.

Gripe 4: CPU bunt cheese. They try to bunt far too often, with guys who shouldnt be bunting. Or the CPU is down like 6 runs in the bottom of the 9th and try for a bunt base hit. I was playing Cleveland and the CPU bunted Rajai Davis every at bat. It was ridiculous

It's funny because I used to always think to myself when crazy stuff always happens that maybe there is "code" for this. I always shrugged it off but watching the development streams you see that they can set up any ball outcomes with their dev kit on, so maybe they are.

Another gripe I have that is minimal but I wish you had the same 4 umpires for an entire series. Nothing game breaking or anything, just a personal preference.
