Thanks! Regarding fielding, in 17 and years past, you never felt like you had to dive or make a great catch as an outfielder. Everything was very routine and mundane. Is this year different?

Yes

You will learn quickly that balls you got to previously with ease, will now require you to either take a different angle or moreso, lay out for the all to attempt to make the catch.

Fielding this year is a thing of beauty. It can be frustrating at first because you are so used to plays just being made, but no the case this year.

Honestly, what was the point of this thread?

Because you seem to pretty much have your mind made up in regards to '18 not being worth purchasing. You've said that numerous of times in different threads.

You've said after playing 3 innings of the game at a buddy's house that: (although another thread you reference playing a few games)

* '18 is the same game as '17
* Pitchers don't throw pitches out of the zone despite you having the sliders at 0
* that games are too quick
* people who bought '18 have been duped
* that the removal of season mode means you are definitely not buying because you are a season mode only player
* your buddy returned his copy it is crap
* you stated that you are trying to get the "fanboys" to admit that its the same game as '17

So I seriously ask, what was the point of this thread?
The best response, is to not respond.

Re: Difference between MLB 17 vs MLB 18

I didn't play 16 or 17 that much as I took a break from MLB games. But this year's game is the best version I have ever played.

I'm not huge on presentation, I like cutscenes at times and walkups but with a baby taking up a lot of time, I have to rush through most games.

Gameplay is much, much better. I only played half a season on 17 but 18 is very much improved. My first few games I missed multiple ground balls because you actually have to field them instead of the CPU directing your player now.

Hitting, I am seeing a lot more variety and the ball physics make each hit unique. I used sliders to help with CPU pitching and it's been great since then.
