This is very disappointing. Jon Jones said that he wouldn't let Sonnen talk his way to a title fight. I understand that the UFC is a business but fights put on for ratings and money vs the top contenders will turn me off really quick. Can't say I won't buy this fight though.

According to MMAfighting.com:

White indicated to the Times that Sonnen will not fight between now and April 27, meaning his planned Dec. 29 bout with Forrest Griffin appears off.

The season should be fun at least. I still think Sonnen has nothing for Jones, but I will be rooting for him.

Appears like a last grasp to try and save the TUF ratings. I hope the season tanks and they finally cancel it, which would have come about 5 seasons too late. Aside from the 145/135 season its been a waste. If you are a solid prospect the UFC or Bellator will sign you way before instead of sticking you on TUF like the first few seasons.

They also just effectively put the entire 205 division on hold for this crappy show.

It amazes that when I think the UFC can't dig itself further into a hole, they do with yet another questionable decision.

this blows........

Dan Henderson
Shogun
Machida
Rashaad
Bader

Basically going to end up fighting twice by the time they find out if they going to be #1 contender. I feel sorry for Dan the most because he already in his 40s.

That doesnt have to be the case. Jones wasnt going to fight until February at the earliest. I'm not happy for Chael getting a title shot but with the exception of Hendo...none of those guys deserve a shot right now. Shogun still needs one more. So does Machida. So does Gus. Rashad and Bader arent even in the discussion right now.

The biggest loser is Hendo but I think thats a bit of payback for the 151 debacle and him sitting on his injury for 2 weeks. Even with this Chael fight, the LHW belt will still be defended three times this year and two of those guys listed above will get a shot.
