I feel really sorry for contenders like Hendo, Gus, Machida and Rua. Chael talked his way into a title shot.

Jones should've stuck to his guns and made Chael earn a shot against him. This is a bunch of nonsense. As a short notice replacement fight sure, but not now. I guess UFC is desperate for TUF ratings. Should be an entertaining season though.

Chael has always talked his way into title fights his whole career. Plus they need it for the ratings as well. This season of TUF and the last 5 seasons ratings has been pretty low. People will tune in just to see what Chael says.

At least now we know Jones vs Silva won't happen now.

The ratings are the only reason this is happening. This Friday's TUF was the worst rated TUF in the series' history.

Thats not true AT ALL. Chael wasnt even talking before the first Silva fight and beat two top 5 MW contenders before he got the title shot. Before the Silva rematch he beat two top 10 MWs in Bisping and Stann. He arguably shouldve received a title shot after he beat Stann but Silva refused to fight him then.

I hate to bash the UFC but this is a joke. No way around that.

You got a guy who hasn't won at 205 in forever and who is coming off a loss to challenge Jon Jones for his belt? Chael isn't even a top 10 205er.

Vitor and Chael Sonnen as consecutive challengers for Bones? Understanding the circumstances of both, it still just looks awful.

Yeah. This is the first example of the Fox deal having a bad effect on the sport. FX stupidly puts TUF on Fridays and the ratings tank. Instead of forcing Jones and Chael, how bout moving the show to a night when people are home.
