Further to this, it appears (at these early stages anyway - pre OG blog) that enhanced defensive rotations and help defense has allowed the devs to release the stickiness of defenders a bit. Penetration is more possible, but with better rotations, the outcome of the play will be more dynamic and realistic.

Somewhat speculation but if true, exciting stuff.....

Passing animations themselves seem quicker overall but I would have liked to see more zip to the passes.

@ 0:53 I really dislike how DeRozan slides forward when catching the ball and faking the jumper. I wonder if the issue is because there is no momentum pump fakes animations. Had he taken the jumper instead would a momentum jumpshot animation have triggered ?

I think that when you pump fake the game automatically squares you to the basket regardless of your momentum that's what makes it look bad like that. They'd need to add momentum pump fakes animations.

DeRozan should have pulled straight up there...would have been a nice, smooth looking play

wonder why the A.I decided to pump fake

I was looking to spot changes in off ball offensive motion, or evidence of battles for position down low, but the whole thing was transition offense or early offense, so that didn't come through.

It does show much better spacing and intelligence for both the offense and especially the defense in transition, though. Last' year's transition defense was just atrocious.

Great to see footage and all, but damn man, can we get some guys playing who don't just turbo up and down the court??

It's like watching an online quick match.

Need to see some sim players on the sticks to truly get a feel of how the game can be played.

Thanks, I had not seen that one.

The style of play is awful - typical transition run and chuck - but I did like what I saw of some action in and around the paint, including physical movement for position and movement coming off contact.
