Online play is so bad

When I first started playing 2k I was horrible, I'd get blown out every game but that didn't make me want to stop playing. I kept observing my opponents and utilizing real nba tactics to figuring out what works. That's what made it fun, challenging and rewarding. If people like the game, they're not going to stop playing because something obviously overpowered and repetetive was nerfed. They didn't buy the game knowing they were going to be able to shoot lights out with sharpshooters. The more these guys played they'd figure out that by taking smart shots like the rest of us, they're capable of dominating. Especially since their shots are worth 3 points.

This update did absolutely nothing to change this, man. Is it really too much to ask to reward good basketball and not let people thrive off of cheese? Once again, I don't mind losing games the right way. Kill me with a great PnR game, good post moves, points off turnovers, excellent ball movement, I'll even take a great individual game from a star (This guy destroyed me with Steph last week and I was in awe of how well he schemed to get him great looks) I'll gladly take that L, but I can't help but rage quit when things like turbo cheese still exist. The lazy center not getting back on D and them getting a wide open layup. (I worked my @!! off for that diamond Ben Wallace and he's useless in times like this). Guys just speed down the court with John Wall type PGs and get wide open dunks. Yes Wall is a speed merchant, yes he can smoke 97% of the league in a foot race, but that's no excuse for my ENTIRE team to be outside the three point line while he zips baseline to baseline putting on his own personal dunk show. Then if I manually bring my center over, nobody helps and that leaves the opposing center open for a dunk. You guys nailed a lot of aspects of this game and I applaud that, but defensive logic is at it's worse this year. It's unbearable at times. I hustle the Auction house, grind out both domination modes to stack my team with defenders. Wallace, Draymond, Marion, Klay and they are just as defensively intelligent as a team full of Hardens. I just want 2k to stay true to their word. The game should expose players who cheese and reward guys who play real basketball. #ThisIsNotAGame but when things like this happen it just feels like

Right now this game is so horribly balanced that it is a sick joke. It has just gotten progressively worse since launch. I am literally never buying another nba2k game again after this. The biggest regret in my life right now is buying this game digitally.

Played with the Stockton/Malone Jazz vs GSW user

Ended the 1st quarter up by 5. Nice defense n the pnr was useful.

Lost the game by 40 somethin points. Dude launched 30 threes and made 17 of em. Shots were going in contested Green was intercepting any entry pass to the post....

Played with the Bad Boys Pistons vs GSW user.
Ended up losing by 40 + Threes everywhere

Played with Gp and Kemp vs GSW user close game up until 2 min left. Down 1 Kemp bricks a dunk . And the game goes crazy. GSW had to make about 5 straight 3s in that time span n im down by 15 end of 4th qttr.

Curry actually played like Gary Payton on defense and my GP played like Chucky Atkins on D and O dude bricked lots of layups.

Yeah its a huge issue. But if you use a team with avg shooters (as opposed to gsw) they will miss all of their wide open 3s. There is a complete and total lack of balance. At least when the game first dropped everyone would make 3s. Now you need a ****ing massive 3 pt rsting too make wide open corner 3s. There is no middle ground. Yoi either use a team that can shoot 3s like mad or you dont make 3s at all

The game is a joke right now. By far the worst experience I've had playing a basketball game online. Completely embarrassing effort by 2K.
