2K18: Proposed Layup Packages

It is good to see that Isaiah Thomas tweet. A public rebuke by a star player seems more likely to move the needle than any requests by us here.

im kind of scared now that 2k is going to go in and change finishing in the paint so little guys can do it better and now shot blocking is going to disappear and lebron, KD, and the other bigger wings are going to shoot 90% at the rim in the same kind of over-reaction that they had with curry not being able to properly take a pull up 3 from 26 with their roster last year

Great post and thread. I always thought that there should be a footwork rating and that rating could be tied to post moves and layups for variation. Especially for what DC said about unathletic big men.

You're right. Soon as he said that Ronnie responded a little after that. So hopefully the 2K team took notice and we'll see an improvement in 2K18.

But that's because they have high layup ratings if you don't want them shooting high percentages you have to deny them lanes to the basket. Whats the point of guards having a high layup rating if they can't use it, that's the point of attributes.

They should make a big man layup package that is comprised of standing hook shots and floaters..basically just a bunch of standing layup animation like this for example.

^ That is a good example. Adams shoots lots of standing floaters as well. So does Big Al Jefferson

A lot of players athleticism when attacking isn't really accurately captured in the game..

We need more animations but also the right animations on the appropriate player..

Some Dunk/Layup packages don't really make sense.. I think instead of packages just assign every animation individually. I know thats time consuming but it would be better than what they have now
