Yea that was my thought as well. I would like that combination of Horford and Noah. And with the pick I'm leaning towards taking Hield there as he would fill that wing scoring need.

That lineup looks pretty good even without counting rookies or resigning anyone

Guards - IT, Bradley, Smart, Rozier, Hunter
Wings - Crowder, Young
Big's - Horford, Johnson, Noah, Olynyk, Jerebko, Mickey

Obviously, they would need another wing and some more shooting, but a good scoring and defensive big would be a nice start.
That wouldn't be a bad lineup at all. I would like for Zeller to have a better role for this team. I can't remember if he's an UFA or not but I thought when he played he actually played pretty well most of the time. He just didn't get many minutes. Last season Zeller played a lot more. I would have used him just as much if not more than Sullinger if you ask me. I don't know his status though for next season. I haven't checked into his contract. Do we have him coming back or not?

Noah wouldn't be a bad option but no way we can bring both Noah & Horford in with what we already have on the roster at PF/C. It would then become just as crowded as the guard position. It would have to be one or the other(Noah or Horford) but not both. If we take the pick @#3 then I think we should draft Hield myself.

He's a SG but could also play SF. If not Hield, then go the big man route & get a true Center in Bender. I say this because we might not even use the pick to draft a player. Danny might have a trade up his sleeve for the #3 pick to either bring in a big name FA or future draft considerations. If that happens I hope it's a player like Horford, Drummond, Whiteside, D. Howard?, Batum, or even KD?. We need another star/superstar type player to go with Isiah Thomas. Thomas has already placed himself into star status if you ask me.

Okafor is being mentioned because the 76ers may want to move him for a shooter due to drafting Simmons (who can't shoot), having Noel/Embiid and Dario Saric finally joining the team. Love is being mentioned because despite being paid 21m/yr he can't even get on the court at crunch time due to the Cavs other big's.

I've seen others around the internet that still really like Love and particularly like him more than Okafor, so I figured I would test the temp here at OS. Part of me think if Love gets away from Lebron and gets back into a motion offense, then we will be really productive again like he was for the T'Wolves under Adelman. Another part of my thinks he's soft as Charmin and Okafor would be better option (especially considering their ages). However, Okafor could be a knucklehead off of the court and end up being a liability. Both would be gambles, but so is drafting a rookie...

I think that Noah would provide an edge down low that we haven't had since KG. Obviously, at 31 he's got a lot of miles on him and is an injury concern, but a player like him is something that this team really needs, imo. Well, as long as we don't have to break the bank to get him and it's only a 1 or 2 year deal.

Zeller is a RFA. Also, Amir's contract is unguaranteed meaning we can cut him without any financial repercussions, so there is some flexibility to add players. If we signed Noah I wouldn't want him playing but maybe 15-20 mins per game, so that would leave some available minutes for the backup big's.

I agree with you on IT and that's why I would love to see them get him some help in the form of a scoring big like Okafor, Love or Horford. I'd also like an enforcer down low and since we probably can't afford a scoring big and like Whiteside, like I think going with an older/less expensive player like Noah would be ideal.

As much as I want a Superstar I don't know if I want to mortgage the future on one. I mean, if Butler is going to cost the 3rd this year, Brooklyn's pick next year, Bradley, + more, then I would just as soon keep the picks and try to build that way. Of course, then we're replying of FA's coming to Boston which has never really worked in the past, so that's another gamble.

I want to address the last part of your posts. The very last sentence mostly. Things are working crazy for me on these forums & others are having issues too but I couldn't bold that part to let you know. Anyhow, you are right in that it's been hard to induce higher level FA's/players to come to Boston in recent years. That mold has changed or is changing now. Brad Stevens has changed that mold. He's a player's coach & he's a darn good coach too. I was kind of in disagreement when Ainge brought Stevens in to Boston straight from Butler out of college.

I thought he was starting out over his head in the NBA so soon at a younger age. That's totally not been the case with him. He's shown that he is a high level NBA coach. More talent has came in since he's been here & we're starting to get more & better players to want to play in Boston. It's certainly not back to the Bird, McHale, & Parrish days but we're moving in the right direction now with a great head coach & a great Director of Team Operations in Danny Ainge. We will probably never get back to those old times/days with Bird.

Those were some amazing times that I still cherish today. I could set & watch Bird play all day long. I watched his games over & over as a child/teenager growing up. Me being a 3 sport athlete growing up basketball was my favorite of the 3 sports & I wanted to be like Bird. I was short & a PG though & I knew that I was never going to grow to be that tall. However, I wanted to shoot like a Larry Bird. I wanted to pass like a Larry Bird. I wanted to rebound like a Larry Bird. I modeled my game after him by just watching him play. I have to say that motivated me & allowed me to go on scholarship & play college basketball at NAIA small school called Walters State Community College in our local area.

Things didn't work out there because the coach showed favoritism so after my sophomore season I transferred out & went to another school not to play basketball but still get my degree. I just hope Boston can get back to at least being a consistent playoff team & hopefully make it back to the NBA finals soon. They have some nice working parts right now. We aren't over the hump because we don't have enough to go with Isiah Thomas yet. We have decent players but not anything great alongside him. That's why I say we need a big/bigger name FA to sign in Boston or trade for one. I wouldn't call getting Noah a player that would put us over the hump.

I wouldn't necessarily call getting Horford that player to get us over the hump either. I know we're not getting a LeBron or KD. That's slim to none chances. I do think we can get a young & upcoming star though in Hassan Whiteside. He would probably be an even better option than Horford or Noah because of his youth & athleticism. He's only going to get better while both Horford & Noah are past their prime. Batum is another player that's not going to get us over the hump. We are probably going to need to make a trade either draft day or after to try & get a star/semi star player to add to this roster. I don't think it's coming from this draft. If we were at #2 then yes either Ingram or Simmons could have been players possible in helping take us where we want to go but we unfortunately got the 3rd pick instead. There is a big drop-off after picks #1 & #2.

I would still draft Hield if we decide to use that 3rd pick but I'm feeling more & more everyday that we're going to take Dragan Bender instead. We need more help in the paint than at guard so that's where I feel Ainge will go. Unless, we decide to end up trading that pick away for a star/semi star player(s) from another team. I really don't care either way what we do. I just hope we draft the right player to fit our system if we do use the pick or trade it for a player(s) that will come in & take us over that hump.
