Re: J-KITS NCAA FB SLIDERS: OS Official

Played 2 games with this set on a new dynasty. Starting as Bowling Green, got destroyed by Minnesota first game. Second game was Kent State and got behind but made it close towards the end. As I build up my team over seasons does this set get easier due to my team getting better, or does each game put up a fight no matter the talent gap? Seems if I find a slider set that can beat me, every game no matter ratings is a potential loss. I can stomach an upset every once in awhile, but I tend to lose interest when every cupcake matchup is still a struggle. I understand my first few seasons are gonna be toss ups or losses. I used to use an older version of the community sliders that seemed to fit my style but the current version is just a notch above my abilities. Just curious anyone that has used over a number of games in a dynasty if they were still able to roll cupcakes, have tossups against even matched opponents & rivalry games, and have an absolute struggle against the big boys?

Thanks for trying these out as well. To your point...For me, I'm a very skilled player just like most who end up conquering every slider set they seem to try out. That's why I took the time to develop my own, around my own playing style.

I play a sim style game. Meaning, I set the challenge high so that I can really focus on my decision making in the game. Things like not using the plays in the game that constantly become exploits. Restricting playbooks. Even using House Rules for recruiting, and restrictions based on my Team's prestige. (here's a link that explains House Rules. Check out PocketScout's post)

Dynasty House Rule Ideas

I do this so that the approach is more realistic in terms of how long it actually takes a program to become a powerhouse. As my team gets better, some games do become easier, but it still will not let me off the hook to begin playing erratically. Ironically, I get bored when I can't lose.

That's the point of these sliders, it's more about playing honest, but effectively toward a scheme. Putting successful drives together, and also truly paying for mistakes. So I think that it's a good thing that the game keep giving you a challenge. Many of us are struggling to keep one lol

Re: J-KITS NCAA FB SLIDERS: OS Official

Thanks for the reply, I guess on one hand I am too impatient in new dynasties to not be making waves the first year or two. I lose a few the first few years and by year 3 or 4 I win a lot and get offers and one always ends up being PSU on an off year and I take it thinking it will be a rebuild, but that only lasts a year and I am on a streak and becomes less fun due to no threat of losing lol. I like what I saw on LopaKa's vids and your stat sheets from your games, things look competitive and I def can see where if I do everything in my power to not screw up I can win, but when careless I'll lose. I think I will give an honest go at these for a few seasons and take the pain in hopes that things improve in a few years. I saw in your one response and I didn't catch it in your slider breakdown, did you intend for fatigue to be off in main menu or is that just a suggestion to amp up the difficulty from the CPU? Are your stats with it off in main menu? Also if Lopaka sees this, do you have it off in your dynasty since you switched?

BTW, about the recruiting rules, I had already started doing that as well, I had actually been "cheating" in the past by giving myself enough points at the start of a new dynasty go build my team faster and I knew that was one of the biggest culprits for my enhanced success, but not no more. Thanks again for the suggestions and insight into your sliders!

Yea bro I definitely understand. At the end of the day, the game is supposed to fun, and having a challenge should keep you coming back. To answer your question about the Fatigue OFF in the main menu, that's actually a suggestion I got from another OS member. I feel it may have had an affect on my gameplay so I just left it that way... Nonetheless, I'd day the sliders should work well even if it Fatigue is turned on in the as well as turned on in your Dynasty too. Would love to see your results too man. Thanks again!

Sounds good, Ill save the fatigue off MM as my pocket ace if things seem easy in a few seasons. I'll try n get some stats for sure!

Re: J-KITS NCAA FB SLIDERS: OS Official

No stats, was too pissed last night for that lol. Lost to 60ovr Georgia State. Im 73 or 74 overall, my offense and defense are rated close to my overall so its not a huge plus to one side or the other. They were 60 across the board but still got a lead and I couldn't close the gap. Im ranked almost dead last in rushing defense, any other set I have tried I've been no lower than top 5. Any other sets Ive used I "DO NOT" use the in game coaching adjustments. I plug in the sliders and go and don't use them since I don't know if they mess with ratings or if the slider guru in question intended them to be used lol. Do you use them in your games that you posted stats from? I know you said not to use the rushing one as it jacks up the rushing stats. Second half I had set the defensive ones and was able to clamp down and hold them scoring. Offensive ones I set in 4th and was able to score more but was out of time. Final was 19-9 Georgia State
