Well then I guess I have problems because not only do I think they are "remotely" comparable, I think they are pretty darn comparable.

Of course it looks dated but you're telling me those animations in the cut scenes and elsewhere don't look substantially like the current games? That the commentary isn't the same?

I had forgotten all about the unlockables in the game. The commentary is obviously the same/similar. I can see the cut scenes being similar. Graphically it isn't close. '12 is better by far, but that is too be expected. The vids make me miss the small schools even more.

For me there's no question that there are some features still missing from the current games that they had back then and I think that's inexcusable regardless of pretty graphics and production values.

A lot of people still refer to 06 with fondness and I'm one of them. That thing practically was a light RPG in terms of the depth of features it had.

Certainly they've improved gameplay and some other things since then but I do miss some of those features to this day.

In some ways we've moved forward but in other ways we haven't IMO.
