Re: How is your dynasty going

In some ways I regret leaving Clemson in my PS2 dynasty. USC is a lot of fun to play with, but it's sad seeing what should be a national title-caliber squad that I built lumber toward an apparent 10-2 season.

I'm thinking of using my post-sim-to-2016 save for another dynasty at some point.

Anyway, USC trashed Oregon State 66-6 in a game played in the wee hours of last night. 7-1, #12, @Stanford next.

My UGA spread I triple option team is 4-0 or 5-0 going into a matchup with FIU.

i was ohio st playing against penn st earlier on ncaa 13 ps3, i led 17-14, got a 1st down psu used last timeout before 1st down play, so i just took 3 knees, but after 3rd down the clock stopped and i was forced to punt, anybody know why that would happen?

Re: How is your dynasty going

I'm pretty sure this game is totally rigged against me.

I've been playing my Miami (FL) dynasty quite a bit. I like to realign conferences, so at the moment we're in the SEC. We're 12-0, but we keep dropping in the polls, despite blowout wins against ranked opponents. We started the year as defending national champs, ranked #1. Our early season went well, including an away win at #4 Oregon. Throughout the season, however, we've dropped down to 3rd. Our Heisman candidate running back averages over 200 yards per game, but for some reason the game hates me. Both teams who jumped us (Stanford & Ohio State) have less ranked wins combined than us. Just confusing to me. Anyway, we have #6 Auburn in the SEC Championship, so wish me luck!

How is your dynasty going

Penn State 2016-2017 Finished

We beat Nebraska in the B1G championship game again.... it was a tough one. They were ranked #10, and they took us to the final minute...

We won 34-31 on a final second field goal...

Anyways, we finish the regular season a perfect 13-0.

BUT, there was this Texas team sitting just ahead of us, waiting for us, at 12-0.

The national championship without a shadow of a doubt Pitt the #1 team vs the #2 team. All other teams had a loss expect for 13-0 Tulane who finished #7.

Anyways, Texas' schedule was loaded with top 25 teams they beat, but also demolished, so I knew it would be a tough one...

TEXAS VS PENN STATE
First quarter saw Penn State strike first following a nice interception, but Texas was moving the ball. 3-0 PSU.
Texas would get the ball back and work their magic behind their heisman QB. 7-3.
Their defense stepped up too, and forced a stop. They get the ball back and score again. 14-3 Texas. Now Penn State is getting nervous, this game could get out of hand and they need to do something fast. But they get stopped again.
Texas gets the ball back, but they turn the ball over again! This game would have gotten out of hand, if it weren't for Texas coughing up the ball. Penn State took advantage and made it 14-10. Texas looks to score again, but I think they turn it over, again. Texas would finish the half with a field goal and I believe the score going into halftime was 17-10 Texas. Note: Texas was about to kick another field goal to make it 20-10, but missed off the goal post in the final seconds.

Penn State would make some offense happen and make it 17-17. Then in the fourth both teams score, its 24-24. Both teams get field goals, and it's 27-27. Now Penn State would get the ball with a minute left and a chance to win the game. They drive down the field and line up for the game winning 40-yard field goal. I swear I was thinking, alright here we are, 3 NATTYS in a row, theirs no way I'm missing a user field goal for the win. As crazy as it sounds, I kick it, and just like Texas at the end of the first half, the ball hits the goal post and misses. First time in a VERY LONG TIME I missed a user field goal.

27-27 overtime

Both teams score and now it's double overtime. 34-34.

Penn State opens it up and scores first in 2ot. 41-34 PSU

Pressure on Texas. But they respond perfectly, and score.

41-41.

Triple overtime, yeah ik best natty of all time

Texas gets the ball first.

I think on the second play their QB throws left, my CB jumps in front, and picks it off!!! Holy sh*^! I'm going nuts!

Penn State gets the ball and kicks the game winning field goal to beat Texas in triple overtime in the BCS National Championship 44-41.

OFF-SEASON NEWS
I said at the beginning I wouldn't make any changes to the system default, but two years in a row an uncompetitive BCS Bowl happened because of the AAC weak teams.

Eg unranked uconn and unranked Houston two years in a row

So some slight changes.

Switch Rutgers (AAC) with Virginia Tech (ACC)
Switch Houston (AAC) with West Virginia (BIG12)
Memphis from AAC to CUSA
Notre Dame from IND to AAC
UAB from CUSA to SUNBELT
Idaho from IND to MAC
Old Dominion from IND to SUNBELT

POINT IS, AMERICAN CONFERENCE now has Notre Dame, West Virginia, and Virginia tech. So now it should be more competitive.

Re: How is your dynasty going

Idaho in the MAC seems an odd choice. Sounds like you had a very competitive title game. Awesome!

My PS3 Georgia squad is 8-0. Our three OOC games are @Penn State, @Auburn, and hosting Washington, in consecutive weeks. Penn State was #17 and we beat them 49-28. We jumped from #2 to #1. My QB had his first game over 200 yards passing for the season.

My USC squad on PS2 is coming off 66-3 at Oregon State and 63-31 at Stanford. 7-1. Our next three games will decide the conference, facing ranked Oregon, Cal, and ASU before finishing at home against UCLA.

I also found a save from the end of the 2022 season of my Clemson dynasty. That was when my star four-year starter QB was a freshman, the last time he played a full season, when he threw 44 TDs. So I'm excited to have a spin-off dynasty and see if I can get to another title game. I hope he gets hurt less this time.

Lol yea. My UGA squad is a spread-I triple option squad and I'm just much better at running the ball than passing. Trying to work on that.

My USC squad and Clemson squad run near-identical Ace/I/Gun multiple offenses. Some zone read and spread option with Clemson because of the dual threat QB, which USC will have after our starter (76 speed; mobile but not a rushing threat) graduates.

I've just always been more inclined to running the ball. As I recall, you are as well.

Granted I'm better at passing on PS2 than PS3, so there's a bit more balance.

I certainly am. For a long time I loved Ohio states power shotgun offset running but just recently have been falling in love with more of an iform pro style
