Re: Battlefield 3

So, me and my squadmate both have had a lot of problems with suicide. They aren't real suicides though. For example, I'll be sprinting and all of a sudden catapult across the map and land and die instantly, or I'll be laying down and will just instantly die, and it says "Bad Luck", yet there were no explosive or any objects near me that could have blown up or collapsed on top of me. The same things happen to him. It seems I have at least 2 "suicides" a match like that and so does he.

Anyone else experienced that?

You only learn with practice. You cant get practice without just spending time in the chopper (co-op might teach you how to keep it in the air but flying in battle is obviously completely different). Seems to me the ones calling someone an idiot in this situation is completely wrong.

Ill give you the fact they shouldnt try to take the chopper at the beginning of the round but otherwise how do you expect them to learn to fly without flying?

There are plenty of servers for practicing (at least on the PC). If you can't fly then you have no business being in a chopper. It's too important of an asset to simply take off in only to crash 5 seconds later.

Re: Battlefield 3

Get over yourself it's a game. I'm sure you can't fly a helicopter in real life. Like many, I won't be opening this until Christmas Day. On that day I plan on flying, crashing and burning or whatever else I please with a helicopter regardless of what you think. Because it's a Video Game. So the only idiots are the name caller losers who lack a life to understand that this is a video game. Merry Christmas.

Cool.

I never said I could fly a helicopter in real life. Just like I never said I could fly a chopper in this game. I don't fly choppers in this game because I know I suck at it. It's as simple as that. If I wanted to learn how to fly I'd go and practice on a practice server instead of getting on a server where a team is trying to win, taking the chopper, and conducting my own personal crash course through the trees.

I hope you have fun though, and Merry Christmas to you too.

I was playing with a friend of mine who has maxed out the engineering class, and I needed a teammate to shoot javelins at a jet while i laser sighted them. When he died, I asked him to spawn as an engineer with the javelin. His response - I'm leveling up my assault class right now. At that point I left the game and turned on netflix.

Moral of the story is - there's time to practice/level up, and there is a time to play ball. Don't squad up with your friends or serious gamers when you're in practice mode, you do that when you're ready to bring your A game. Or only use the helicopter after a match has started and no one else is using it...but not when a match begins....

Lastly, do the helicopter co-op mission. That is the best training ground for learning the helicopter controls. It will also give you a basis for flying jets, but you'll still have a lot to learn....like not holding the throttle.....
