That's not a glitch; some people are playing with the same character and the same character only. If you take first place, you can nearly go up ten levels sometimes. Play 100 times since this game's release, and... well, you get where I'm going with this.

Rankings are per character though, so they are probably a level 0 with every other character.

I found out earlier that I actually won this from twitter, but I didn't check my direct messages. I always just assumed twitter would tell me I had been messaged. They can bombard my email with follower suggestions but can't say "hey, someone DMed you".
