Re: WWE 2K19 Dynasty - Life After Hulkamania

NEWS UPDATE - AUGUST 28, 1994

It has been a season of change in the WWF. With the Deadman receiving his 2nd World Title at King of the Ring, it's a clear marker that the WWF is rethinking how it's choosing to do business.

Former World Champions Koko B. Ware, Warlord (after a nice farewell match with Powers of Pain getting a tag title shot at KOTR), and both Steiner Brothers have left the company. Bastion Booger and Greg Valentine also have left the company.

Although it's the Undertaker's company right now, there is no-one in pro-wrestling as hot as Macho Man Randy Savage. He'd be an early tip for a World Title shot at Survivor Series. His popularity is so high that he's bumped Taker vs. Lawler down to the semi-main status.

Everything old is new again in WCW as Arn Anderson def. Ron Simmons to win his 5th WCW World Title at Bash at the Beach. People are calling The Enforcer the greatest professional wrestler of all-time Ric Flair is taking some umbridge but is mired in a feud with Vader as Simmons and Arn take the spotlight.

Diamond Dallas Page also shocked the world by hitting the Diamond Cutter at Bash at the Beach and winning the United States Championship.

However, the biggest news of the summer is likely Hulk Hogan pitching his lot in with Ted Turner and WCW. He defeated Kevin Sullivan at Bash at the Beach and appears to have drawn the ire of Vader as well. It's a slow build for the Venice Beach muscleman.

ECW is the hot promotion on the underground and yesterday, Cactus Jack won a tournament to crown the new NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion. Foley then threw the NWA World Title down to the ground and declared himself the new ECW World Champion. Eastern Championship Wrestling folded that night and have re-emerged as Extreme Championship Wrestling with Cactus Jack as their world champion.

In other news Abdullah The Butcher has won the initial ECW Television Championship and has been involved in a series of matches over the strap with Taz.

Finally, the tag championships have been bouncing around with Badd Company dropping the belts on the way out (to WCW) to The Franchise Players (Doulgas & Hughes), who then dropped the belts to the Pitbulls on their very first defence.

Re: WWE 2K19 Dynasty - Life After Hulkamania

NEWS UPDATE - OCTOBER 1, 1994

This fall has been the renaissance of Randy Savage. Although Savage had a 38 day run on top of the company in 1991, he hasn't looked this dangerous since his Mega Powers days. Maybe he's even eclipsed that mark as Hogan isn't overshadowing him anymore.

We've said goodbye to some industry pros over the past few weeks with Fred Ottman (Typhoon, Shockmaster), Bastion Booger, Dory Funk Jr, and Ricky Steamboat hanging up the boots and Steamboat never seemed to reach that next gear that he seemed destined for post Wrestlemania III.

On a totally different level though, we said goodbye to Superfly Jimmy Snuka. A former WWF and NWA-ECW champion. There are some who say that Snuka is one of the all-time greats.

We also said goodbye to the Million Dollar Man as an in-ring competitor, although he has remained with the WWF in a managerial capacity. He seemed on the cusp on the World Title around Wrestlemania but fell off the pace and a series of matches against Jim Duggan ended up being the curtain call for Ted DiBiase.

There are rumours that Ron Simmons is imminently thinking about a jump to ECW but then WCW booked him to win the industry's first major Triangle match, by going over strong and pinning both Flair and then Muta. He's earned himself a title shot at Halloween Havoc against 5-Time WCW World Champion, Arn Anderson.

Also at Fall Brawl, Diamond Dallas Page saw off the threat of Bobby Eaton for his US Title, while tag champs Simply Ravishing beat the Hollywood Blonds (again!), and Jean-Paul Levesque won the vacant Television Championship.

In the Main Event at Fall Brawl, Dusty Rhodes & The Nasty Boys def the Stud Stable (Arn, Terry Funk, Meng) in War Games, when Jerry Sags pinned Meng for the win.

Re: WWE 2K19 Dynasty - Life After Hulkamania

NEWS UPDATE - NOVEMBER 1, 1994

As we gear up for Survivor Series, the big news is from WCW fresh off of Halloween Havoc.

The Main Event saw a mild surprise as WCW opted to continue to go with Arn Anderson rather than sign Simmons to an extension as Arn def. Simmons in the Main Event inside of a steel cage. Simmons has since disappeared with no rumours about where he will pop up next.

Other big news from Halloween Havoc saw Hulk Hogan def. Ric Flair, Paul Orndorff def. tag partner Paul Roma, Muta def DDP for his 2nd U.S. Title, Ricky Morton def. Jean-Paul Levesque to win the Television Title and The Nasty Boys def. Simply Ravishing for the tag belts after a 304 day reign. Simply Ravishing have said to have split up with big plans for Sting while Rude is said to be slowing down and hopes to make it through to Starrcade.

It looks like the WWF is going with Undertaker vs. Savage in the Main Event of Survivor Series but the card, as always, is subject to change.

Re: WWE 2K19 Dynasty - Life After Hulkamania

NEWS UPDATE - DECEMBER 1, 1994

It either seems that Randy Savage has left over the finish of Survivor Series or the countout win was just a token 'best of luck' as Savage was on his way out the door for WCW.

And he's not alone, Hacksaw Jim Duggan is headed to WCW as well just in time for Starrcade.

It's staggering to consider that The Hart Brothers 304 day reign as WWF Tag Team Champions is actually the shortest reign with the straps since Wrestlemania in almost 5 years (Demolition - 357 days, The Super Powers - 1041 days)

ECW is ready to present Holiday Hell with key matchups including Taz challenging Ron Simmons for the ECW World Title, Sabu taking on the Sandman, and Casualty (911 & Cactus Jack) taking on The Public Enemy for the ECW Tag Team Championships.

Current Champions - World Wrestling Federation

World Champion - The Undertaker - 170 days
Intercontinental Champion - Jerry 'The King' Lawler - 3 days
Tag Team Champions - 2 Dudes With Attitude - 3 days
King of the Ring - Jerry Lawler
Royal Rumble Winner - Koko B. Ware

Current Champions - World Championship Wrestling

World Champion - Arn Anderson (5) - 140 days
United States Champion - The Great Muta (2) - 34 days
Television Champion - Ricky Morton - 34 days
Tag Team Champions - The Nasty Boys - 34 days

Extreme Championship Wrestling - Current Champions

ECW World Champion - Ron Simmons - 17 days
ECW Television Champion - Terry Funk - 17 days
