Liverpool, Juventus snub Spurs with Dybala transfer!

It was no secret that Tottenham were keen on a move for Paulo Dybala and tried multiple times to negotiate with Juventus. The Italian side rejected every offer from Spurs citing the player was "too valuable to move" and the club refused to sell him. Two weeks after the final offer was rejected, Juventus sold Dybala to Liverpool at a cheaper cost than what Tottenham offered.

"Obviously we are very upset with how Juventus decided to act but we cannot focus on that." Spurs chairman Daniel Levy said of the news. "We tried our best and they refused to do business with us, that is something we will not forget going forward. You cannot blame Liverpool, they did nothing wrong in purchasing a very talented player at such a great price."

Re: StlDucks career mode

Two teams that nobody expected to win the Champions League or Europa League will be playing for the UEFA Super Cup to open the 2020/2021 season. Tottenham face Galatasaray at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

Tottenham are starting their new signings, Dean Henderson in goal and Owen Wijdnal at left-back as well as Joseph Tanganga and Cameron Carter-Vickers in defense. With the majority of Spurs first-team players recently returning from International Duty, StlDucks is using this chance to rest his squad before the first Premier League match.

"We would love to win a cup to start our season but I also do not want to put player's health at risk after their international matches and our season going longer than others due to the Champions League final. Starting the new season fresh is our main priority and winning the Super Cup a close second."

Spurs win Super Cup 3-1
Tottenham start the new season with a trophy in their victory over Galatasary. Spurs went ahead early when Gedson Fernandes scored in the 10th minute. Erik Lamela added the second for Spurs in the 22nd minute with a curved shot from the right side of the box.

It was a comfortable win for Tottenham, even without playing Harry Kane, Son, Lloris or other main starters in defense.

"It is always good to win a trophy, especially to start the season and gain momentum." Stlducks said after the match "Even better we got out of the match without injuries and have everyone rested to start the season. We are ready to go after the Premier League trophy this year."

Spurs hit snag in Lo Celso transfer
Tottenham thought making the loan deal of Lo Celso permanent would be an easy transfer but Real Betis are not willing to let their key man go so easily. Spurs had their first bid rejected for 38 million pounds and have now submitted a second bid in teh range of 50 million pounds.

If Tottenham cannot bring Lo Celso back, they will go into the start of the season with Dele Alli and Gedson Fernandes (who is also on loan) as their only two attacking midfielders.

Squad update
The start of the Premier League season is 10 days away and Spurs are still looking to bring in players and sell players before the season begins. Here is a breakdown of the current squad, who is listed to be sold and who Spurs are targeting.

GK - Hugo Lloris, Paulo Gazzaniga, Dean Henderson
With the addition of Henderson as the new backup for Lloris, Gazzaniga has been listed to be sold.

RB - Y. Atal, Serge Aurier, Japhet Tanganga
Atal came in last winter and took over the starting position making Aurier available to be sold. Tanganga is a promising defender who will be used as the backup.

CB - Davison Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier, Jan Vertonghen, Carter-Vickers, Juan Foyth
Alderweireld and Vertoghen will be the starting CB's for the 6th straight season. Dier and Sanchez are the main backups while one of Carter-Vickers or Juan Foyth will be listed to be sold.

LB - Ben Davies and Owen Wijndal
Wijndal was purchased this summer and offers a more attacking role over Davies for StlDucks to rotate.

CDM - Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko, Luke Amos
Upgrades needed for Spurs. Pierre Hojbjerg has been mentioned to come in if funds could be found.

CAM - Dele Alli, Gedson Fernandes
Spurs are in talk to bring Lo Celso back but Real Betis are not willing to sell so far. Bringing in another attacking mid will be the difference for StlDucks playing a 4231 or 433 attack.

LW - Son, Ryan Sessegnon, Steve Bergwijn
Three left wingers seems excessive but all three players are flexible to fit multiple positions. Bergwijn can play CAM or ST while Son fills in for Kane when needed. Sessegnon is a third option at LB or can play LWB.

RW - Lucas Moura, Erik Lamela, Jack Clarke
Moura and Lamela have been regulars for Spurs in recent years with Lamela filling in for a midfield role often. Clarke is an option to be sold as Spurs are desperate for funds.

ST- Harry Kane
A constant problem for Spurs, lack of striker options. Spurs will be looking into bringing in a young, inexpensive player to backup Kane either this summer or in the winter.

Positions Needed - CDM, CAM, ST
Targets - Hojbjerg, Lo Celso, Ollie Watkins
On Loan - Skipp (Watford), Parrott (Sheffield Wed)

Re: StlDucks career mode

Tottenham start the 2020/21 season at home against Watford. Stlducks is forced to place Eric Dier in midfield as the club waits for ongoing transfer negotiations to be completed. The standard 4-2-3-1 for Spurs against Watford's 5-3-2 formation.

Tottenham applied pressure the first 15 minutes of the match with crosses coming in from Atal on the right side, Dele Alli and Harry Kane each had their chance at the opening goal but missed headers high.

The opening goal did come from Spurs when Son sent a low cross into the box that took a deflection off Watford captain Mariappa and went into his own net.

Watford held on the end of the first half to keep it 1-0 at the break. The second half started with Watford the more attacking side and keeping Spurs back on their heels. Hugo Lloris was called upon to come up with two big saves with Sarr had close range chances. Lloris was able to make the double save before Vertoghen cleared the box.

Sarr did get his goal with only minutes to spare, in the 87' Sarr headed a chance but Lloris made a diving save. The rebound came to the middle of the box where Sarr reacted quicker than Vertonghen or Alderweireld and finished his chance.

Re: StlDucks career mode

Daniel Levy is finally able to get a signing over the line after missing out of Hojbjerg and Lo Celso this summer. Wilmar Barrios, a Columbian defensive midfielder will be joining Tottenham on a 4 year deal worth 54,000 pounds a week. The deal cost Tottenham just over 11 million from Zenit.

Barrios is the defensive, power midfielder Stlducks was hoping to bring in this summer allowing Tottenham to play a more attacking 4-3-3 midfield. With the addition of Barrios, Eric Dier will move back to his preferred centerback position and Harry Winks or Gedson Fernandes will be allowed to play more attacking.
