West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire (AP) - Nottingham Forest put a winless November behind them on Saturday afternoon as they opened December up with a 2-nil defeat of Peterborough United at City Ground. Joe Lolley and Joao Carvalho were the goal scorers for Forest as they ended a five match winless streak, that dated back to October 30th.

Joe Lolley would get Nottingham Forest on the score sheet in the 30th minute, racing in down the right side, he took a shot that was initially saved by keeper Christy Pym, but the rebound came back to Lolley and he was able to guide it home to put Nottingham Forest in front.

Nottingham Forest outshot Peterborough United 10-4 in the opening half with a 4-1 advantage in shots on target.

Forest would increase their lead to 2-nil in the 77th minute on another rebound goal. This time Joao Carvalho put one in through a sea of traffic off of a Lewis Grabban shot that was saved initially by Pym.

Peterborough United's (5-3-13, 18 pts) best opportunity came in the dying embers, but Milan Borjan was able to stop a point blank shot from Dembele to keep the clean sheet. It was his fourth on the campaign.

Nottingham Forest improved to (8-4-9, 28 pts), ending a five match winless streak that extended through the month of November. They would outshoot Peterborough United 13-9 while holding a slight possession advantage in the match. Joao Carvalho earned Man of teh Match honors with a goal on four shot attempts.

Brennan Johnson picked up a sprained knee in the match and will likely be out for the next month.

CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHDAY 22

vs.

SWANSEA CITY 0:0 NOTTINGHAM FOREST
Liberty Stadium (Capacity: 21,088)

Philip Zinckernagel almost put Nottingham Forest in front late in the opening half.

SCORING:
NONE

DISCIPLINE:
56' - (SWA) - B. Cooper (Red)

12/11/21
Swansea, Wales (AP) - Nottingham Forest had to settle for a scoreless draw against Swansea City on Saturday afternoon at Liberty Stadium. It was a fairly uneventful draw which really didn't benefit either side.

Nottingham Forest (8-5-9, 29 pts) outshot Swansea City (7-7-8, 28 pts) 8-4 in the match but only managed two on target with the hosts managing just one. The best scoring chance came just before halftime as Philip Zinckernagel, just returning to the lineup from injury, unleashed a shot that sailed just wide of the far post. He would get another decent chance from just outside of the box early in the second half but keeper Sondre Rossbach was up to the task, making the save.

Swansea City's Brandon Cooper was sent off in the 56th minute for a harsh tackle on Alex Mighten from behind. But Nottingham Forest could not capitalize on being a man up over the final 34 minutes of the match.

Olivier Ntcham, Swansea City midfielder, was named Man of the Match with a match rating of 7.5. The scoreless draw meant a clean sheet for Milan Borjan. It was his fifth on the season.

Up next for Nottingham Forest is a return home next Saturday as they will face Hull City, who currently sit in the relegation zone in 22nd position at (3-7-12, 16 pts), just two points above the bottom of the table.
