The Mets agree to buyout the rest of Jason Bay's contract, making him a free agent. Must be a happy day in Queens, after all.

Also some Interest on Hellickson. I just don't see why they would go there. I really hope they go for McCarthy though.

Jeremy Guthrie is supposedly looking for a 3-year $34 million deal.

lol, yeah okay Jeremy Guthrie.

Gosh, can't believe these GMs giving reason to these players to have the gall to expect such deals. SMFH.

Apparently the Blue Jays have some interest in Anibal Sanchez but he may command so much money that they may just say "screw that" and look elsewhere.

I'd love Sanchez.

Very interesting, the Jays have had their eyes on Upton for the longest time too.

Hmm....

Re: 2012-13 Hot Stove League Thread

The thing is, though, would he play LF? Because Bautista obviously can't play anywhere else in the OF. Plus, we have enough righty power bats.

I wonder what they'd be asking for. We don't exactly matchup well with AZ- we've got a surplus of OF prospects, as do they. We've got a surplus of SP prospects, as do they. I'd say Gose + Norris/one of the Big 3, in terms of value, but I don't think the needs match up.
