He's not a reliever. We get it the Dodgers went crazy on League, but Hyun-Jin Ryu is not a reliever.

I don't mind this signing either. Saltalamacchia is a hit and miss guy, if he's is not hitting HR he's S/O. Ross is a decent hitter

On another note, the rays according to Ken Rosenthal are the front runners for J.Upton.

Ryu was a starter in Korea, however there are concerns about his stamina. And it's gonna be interesting to see whether he makes it into the Dodgers' crowded rotation.

The Ross signing is intriguing b/c it could spell the end of either Salty or Lavarnway.

I wonder how much the Rays are willing to offer Justin Upton.

"Ross will be “more than a backup but not a starter” for #RedSox, source says. Team could move Salty or Lavarnway. Plans unclear" - Ken Rosenthal twitted.

They can trade Salty and just keep switching between Lavarnway and Ross, I'll be happy with that.

I don't know how much they would give away, but i heard it could one of the top pitching prospect and someone else from the rays rotation. David is off limits, maybe Shields? but they picked up his option (to maybe trade him away?) or they could trade Moore...... now this would shock me, specially after giving him that contract in which was basically a steal. But a more realistic one would be Cobb, Davis, or Niemann.

This is obviously very preliminary chatter, but it’s thought that the Rays could be the best alternative for the Diamondbacks if the Rangers stand firm in their refusal to give up either Elvis Andrus or top prospect Jurickson Profar. Rosenthal notes that the Rays could offer either James Shields or Jeremy Hellickson, giving Arizona a top-of-the-rotation talent. They could also offer prospect shortstop Hak-Ju Lee as part of a package, though it’s possible the Diamondbacks would have to part with additional talent to make it happen.

Sounds like they want Ross to fill the role that Jeff Mathis did for the Blue Jays last year where he was more than just your typical backup though because of Arencibia's injury he had to play way more than they had planned.

I have a feeling Salty may be the one being pushed out.

That is so weird, if I had a choice between Andrus and Simmons I would take Simmons. The Ranger's fixation with Andrus is baffling to me, seeing as they have Profar waiting in the wings.

Hey seanjeezy, Ken Rosenthal likes your chances with Hambone. Thoughts?
