Yeah it seems like both sides want to win the negotiations so they want to use the threat of missing games as one of their weapons

Yeah it definitely seems like this is the case. I typically try not to criticize people for looking out for their own interests, but when both sides seem far more eager to try to get the public on their side instead of negotiating in good faith, its becoming increasingly harder to have any sympathy for either side

Yeah I don’t get the way both sides seem to be posturing towards the fans to make it look like the other side is the reason there is no agreement. It’s not like the fans have any say in the negotiation

And Im not getting the fans who side with the owners in this “ride or die” scenario.

A PR move, but also using the fans as pawns.

Each side wants the fans on their side to pit the others as the villains, so even if the other side gets their way, the one that had more fans behind them can be like "see, we tried, but they didnt want that."

And also, maybe they're trying to use fan reaction as a negotiation tactic too. If fans are mainly behind a certain side on certain topics, that side can use that as proof with a larger sample size of how that offer is a good one.

Imagine fans voting on each topic presented by the PA/MLB. That would be a chaotic but quick way to resolve things.

Spoiler: Neither side cares what the fans think.

And the fans don't get a vote.

Each side is just being difficult to be difficult, there isn't anything beyond that going on.

I don't agree with that. If that were the case, players wouldn't be out on Twitter making statements about what's going on. The owners probably don't, though
