The third team would have to supply picks. I don't even see how the Knicks can do that midseason since they'll have to sign so many guys to minimum deals as soon as the trade goes through or they'll only have 6-7 guys dressed for a couple of games.

At least Miami had the entire summer to find minimum contracts to fill out the roster.

$800,000 then wasnt what $800,000 is now. James Worthy was rockin mink coats on the regular, don't think was worried about $ then or now.

Anyway, I can't wait until the 9th, it's going to be madness.
That kills me when people start talking about the salaries of ball players back then. $800,000.00 was worth a lot of money. Probably more than the NBA average at that time. If prime James Worthy was playing now he'd probably be paid either a MAX deal or close to a MAX deal.

I remember someone on the radio explaining how the Celtics and Lakers of the 80's would have problems winning the championships they won if they were playing under the CBA rules of today. Think about it, Bird, McHale and Parish played together for 10+ years. All hall of fame players. In this era, you can barely get TWO HOF’ers to play together for that long of a time e.i. Shaq and Kobe. The last two HOF’ers to play together for more than 10+ years was Stockton and Malone and I really don’t consider them part of this era. Financially, it would have been real difficult for teams like the Celtics and Lakers to dominate with an economic system like today in place.

Not to mention more cap to play with since the three took a pay cut to make it work, unlike Melo and Stat. I don't see how new york can pull this off.

Just wait it out. If CP3 is dead set on NY, then NO will either have to take whatever we give them or take nothing at all, unless some team wants to borrow him for a couple months.

They can feel just the same as the rest of us... you dont really have to produce now to make big money is the point. Your overall skill used to mean something...now its like, if you're tall enough or if there is just a lack of overall people in your position or if you play right for one year
