Clearly he's trying to learn but it's been a rough process for him. Even Al Horford has noticed.

“I think that last season this was new for him,” Horford said. “He was getting to know our guys; he was getting to know what we were about. And yeah, he wasn’t as engaged as he is now. Like, now it’s night and day. He was still trying to lead us and things like that, but it’s way different and it’s for the better of the group.”

Translation: he was trying to be a leader last year but he wasn't the leader they needed. He's getting better but still not quite there.

If you've actually read books on leadership, studied the **** out of it, and been a leader at your workplace, it's really easy to spot good leaders and bad leaders. Seriously, very easy. You want a perfect comparison of good leadership vs. bad leadership, go look at how Nick Foles interacted with Alshon Jeffrey after the INT versus how Kyrie interacted with Gordon Hayward after the in-bounds play 2 games ago.

A bad leader is far more detrimental to a team and its chemistry, than a player willing to fall back and allow someone else to step up into that role is.

Just listen to the comments coming out the locker room last night. Brown pushes back at Kyrie, Tatum chooses to support him, Morris talking about the team has no identity. Yep. Sure sounds like a situation on solid ground.

Idk, maybe Kyrie should shut up?

Guess it really doesn’t matter since I’m told everything is and will be fine.
